I am surprised if they are prioritising Leeds/Palace.

Leeds Utd haven’t even unveiled any plans yet. They still need to go through planning permission etc.

Palace still need to agree terms with local housing and the supermarket. Their current planning permissions has also expired so they have to go through the same process again.

Both of those obviously still will take at least 2 years. Surely we are in the driving seat with current planning permission and it is just a case of arranging construction/insurance contracts for the build?

Yeah exactly right. But as Leicester haven't given any indication of when to start or even if they want to start some time soon.....and essentially outlay the cost .....the firm is cracking on design/planning etc for Leeds.

There was another club too on their list but I can't remember what he said ...I'd had a few brews at the time !! I think it was Norwich.

Bilbao is a city with almost the same population as Leicester with a very comparable football team yet has a 52,000 capacity stadium like this:-

They also never get attendances much over 40k, has sold out just 5 times in nearly 10 years

Also a lot easier to get a stadium looking nice and the same all the way around when you build from scratch like they did which we can’t

Considering its size and over 2000 years of history , Leicester is seriously lacking in monumental buildings. Its not money, Leicester has often been more prosperous than Bilbao. Its civic pride that our city lacks.

Won’t be needed as we’ll have around ten thousand empty seats when we’re 12th in the championship next season.

That’s the spirit :scarf:

How dare you dismiss the Premier Inn next to the station. A building of monumental stature and excellence.

Is that the old post office building which became the blue monster. It lurked at the end of Charles St. in all its Stalinist beauty. A true monument to sixties taste.

The club doesn't have to sell out every game. Are some empty seats really that upsetting? If we go down, history tells us we will come back sooner or later and then the extra seats will be in high demand. At that point you might be considering why we didn't expand when the chance was there.

Mentioned on here a couple of times but I know one of the architects leading this project. Not seen him in a while so got the latest from him.....there's a few things that I can't reveal but the key update is that the club has not instructed them to begin work or even indicated when they might. It's gone totally quiet and the firm is actually now prioritising projects at Palace and Leeds.

A couple of things he said were that Top is an absolute gentleman. And the various directors are powerless....Whelan makes all of the decisions.

...so the club is run on the whim of one person!!!

This sounds like a bit of a nightmare scenario,  where power is given to one person to the detriment of the rest of the board. Where did democracy go, it has been noticeable how poor the communication between the supporters and the club, and this information does not give me much confidence.

Expanding to an extra 8 thousand? Hardly big time is it? The whole expansion is more about the periphery ie hotel accommodation living accommodation, sports arena, and imagery of the stadium than it is about extra seating. I would have thought that evident to most people.:dunno:

....and more executive type options your average workaday fan is just there to fill up the space from adding on the executive boxes and seating, that's where the money is even in the Championship.

The value will be lower in the championship.   Maybe throw in a chance to meet the manager at full time
