Interesting to see how few pages are on this thread - almost like great awathes of City 'fans' would rather we lose so they can hate on the team and Brendan....what a shame

Yeah l was thinking lots of different posters too - the silent majority?

I was a critic of Rodgers but always trusted Top to make the correct decision because he knows the facts - not the utter tripe and fantasy some here peddled.

Personally it's Lcfc for me first and last so if we keep up the great football then he is clearly doing his job well.

What a difference a month makes!

Not just to Rodgers but to Ward, Amartey, Castagne, Tielemans and JJ too.

We look good again and credit to Rodgers for that.

One of the best things was seeing just how much Gray wanted to score or assist because of the booing, yet being absolutely shut out

If only they’d beat Palace, I’d have been booking off the Conference League dates now

If only Knudsen was here for pre season

They like their fireworks up in Liverpool, don't they?

Tactically very interesting, we've found another way to press teams back and create space for our creative player's

Yes, I think something's changed tactically. It's not all spirit, belief and confidence. I don't know what that something is specifically (I'll leave that for our analytical gurus) but I think we are more defensively minded, both in attitude and practice.

Personally, I like the defense first approach. Allowing teams to come on to you necessarily means there's more space in their half, you then need to move the ball quickly to exploit it. The problem I have with the high press approach is that you're also reducing the space you have to work in, and this relies on clever players to find that space. It looks like you're dominating the game territorially and in possession stats but you're  making no inroads and leaving yourself open to the counter.

I was definitely full on Rodgers out, just also capable of enjoying the good times.

This gives a nice little summary of it.

Yeah, I was suprised by how far back Tielemans was playing yesterday. At times, it looked like he was a centre back!

Finally watched the highlights. Everton missed 2 huge chances then and we've got players scoring goals from all angles still haha. I'm not sure why more teams don't just employ this tactic of smashing in worldies on a regular basis, it makes the game easy :D

Madders was looking in fine fettle from just the 3 minutes of highlights I saw. I absolutely love his awareness in the box to pick out Youri rather than just trying to snatch a shot towards goal. Another clean sheet for Ward as well.

Still not winning in a convincing manner and relying on unbelievable finishing, but we might as well make hay while the sun is shining or whatever the saying is. The club must be petrified about losing Madders and Youri this summer. Slap them some improved contracts on the table with fair release clauses and heavily incentiviced bonuses.

We're looking at exciting young players again (according to reports anyway) so it gives me faith that we're looking to get back on track with how we were operating. Let's hope this past few seasons off the pitch are a small blip. We haven't got the finances to try and muscle our way into European spots. We need to operate intelligently as we were doing under Puel and Macia. Seems like the club have definitely grasped that and I'm looking forwards to seeing who we bring in over the next 12-18 months. We've shown we're capable of doing it, the quality in this squad didn't happen by accident. We need to dust off that conveyor belt of talent and get it moving again,  the Faes signing is hopefully the first signs of it spluttering back into life.

They like their bloody awful electronic advertising boards as well (two layers!?)

They used to love a bonfire too - usually with a Thatcher guy on top. Their advertising boards and that Everton brightly song were an embarrassment - they really are the ultimate tinpot club

Obviously Maddison should be starting for England, but also isn’t there a case for Barnes instead of Grealish?

Barnes’ goal and assists are far better.

But Southgate is an absolute twat so there’s no chance.

Might actually watch the England games if we have some players in there.

He often drops back to cover the space vacated by Castagne, or Amartey if Dan covers Tim's space.

I might have missed as to why Praet and Soyoncu weren't in the squad on Saturday?

Please can someone advise the reasoning behind their absence?

Great away win and one of the places we don't get much.

Great performance and goals.

A bit disappointed at some posts slagging off Everton as crap l, especially as some called us that not so long ago.

Love banter, but not as mentioned.

Always remember reading about Everton fans giving up their tickets so Leicester could experience winning the premiership.

Top supporters don't you think?

I'm still absolutely and completely ecstatic today - I've hardly seen us win away over the last few years and I go to 75% of aways

We looked a far more accomplished side than Everton - I think they're going to be sucked into another relegation battle

You could see the belief drain from him as the match wore on as he got more isolated from being involved up front, it was great.

Reminded me of how he was towards the end of his time with us, when he'd come off the bench and you'd be begging for him to take someone on or try and create something but instead the defender would just stand him up and he'd turn back. He's obviously a big confidence player and has been, commendably I think, open about struggling in that regard, so I hope for his sake it doesn't become a repeating pattern.

Of course I meant just in the context of the football match. I don't wish him any serious struggles off the pitch.
