Leaf the original poster to it, seems to know what he's doing. Has anyone contacted the Birch?

Woods Coaches really should just stump up the cash and give the money back.

Maybe they support Forest? Barking mad if so...

I can understand claiming to be refunded from the coach. But to claim for the prices of the tickets.... No chance.

What you do outside of the coach is none of their business and they won't care.

I'm not going to lie, something seems off about this whole story 😅

Update?

Starting small claims court proceedings, but waiting for response from them (which doesn't look like it's gonna happen), giving them a chance to pay us for the match tickets before we take it further.

We'll see.

Nothing off with the story, coach booked, was cancelled 22 hours before it was due to depart, refund took well over a week and they said it's not their problem.

You've been given your refund? That's a positive.

But you wanted to be refunded for tickets, too?

No chance for ticket refund, if a coach was cancelled you have to make alternative arrangements like a car, train, another bus company etc.

Could it not be argued that less than 24 hours' notice is unrealistic and does not allow for alternative arrangements?

Yes

good luck getting a refund for the tickets! like trying to get a refund for your petrol and parking if your flight gets cancelled! not going to happen. If they have given you your money back for the coach, i would call it a day and just get the 50+ people who were on the bus to give them a bad review on social media and google.

Out of interest, did you get a signed contract / agreement with them? I can see they have the Ts&Cs on the website.

Not sure if they this would have been applicable for a day trip, however it indicates compensation for 0-7 days cancellation at £25 / each.

Whilst morally it’s incredibly wrong, reading that I think you’ll struggle to get your tickets refunded legally. Maybe compensation though?

Poor of them to not responded though, even if it’s a case of stating we’re reviewing and will get back you ASAP.

When a flight gets cancelled the airline has to do everything in their power to get you to your end destination, and pay your discretionary costs in doing so. They should absolutely not call it a day, they have a very valid point. Bad google review means nothing, its not 1997, can make up 1000 good reviews to outweigh them if you need to

So you are saying that if i drive to Heathrow and park up ready for my flight. I get to the desk, go to check in and they tell me the flight is cancelled. That i can then get my money back from them for my petrol and parking?? Right ok...... No chance at all. Thry would either refund me or sort out a new flight another day. If they i went for the refund they would not then pay me for my petrol and parking.

You are missing the point. These people missed the game directly because Woods coaches cancelled on them and did not offer any alternative arrangements to attend the event they directly and specifically booked the coach for. And in answer to your original question, it's an obvious yes. I had a flight from Vienna - London cancelled in September. So far I've got: transport to Vienna airport, two meals, original flight purchase, hotel stay, new flight back to Stansted, transport from Stansted airport - home and €250 compensation back. Your advice to the 53 is terrible and plain wrong, hope they do not listen.
