Yeah, I noticed this yesterday morning so messaged Jake. He didn’t know they’d been taken down, Spotify hadn’t notified him. He thinks it might be a copyright violation so nothing he can I do I guess. @Anonymous F.O.X.has them on his SoundCloud so at least we can still listen to them on there.

Thank you so much for this 👍

Don’t want to ask too much but did you have a link by any chance?

Thanks again.

Spoke to Jake about this. Not sure why they have been taken down as some of them are originals (different lyrics and different backing song). Only thing I can think is someone reported them (the club/KPFC).

I'll going to try and upload them to Spotify and YouTube music from SoundCloud once a few more are played on the Pod. Would have done it earlier but I have to have a paid subscription.

Still works. Thank you ☺️

You can also download the songs for free on the browser desktop version of SoundCloud (not the app). You can do this on your phone if you "Request desktop site". A download button should appear

Guardian article below says Spotify has some sort of automated removal for things it judges to be "spam" tracks, so that's another possibility I suppose, if that got triggered somehow. The songs show up on the pods feed on Antennapod, which is the Android app I use to listen, so the underlying podcast feed might be ok.

I thought that to myself too, about the club and/or KPFC. They could make their own cult versions if they want, no one’s stopping them.

Might be wrong, and totally not my area, but could there be some defamatory concerns? Or copyright concerns?

I’m sure those producing know the boundaries, just curious?

copyright is a bit wooly on this tbf. Parody is protected as fair dealing, and artists have made entire careers off it, but it's generally don't use more than you actively need to to make the parody point, and even then if it can be considered harmful to their image it can be disapplied.

Anyone else got that sad feeling that listening to the Pod has now taken over from watching/ going to the games as the thing you look forward to most weeks?

It’s no longer who’s that new signing or academy graduate in the squad? It’s now what new song, who’s that first time caller or ca I guess the who are you before Ric?

Ive gone from going to work excited to talk about games, to the highlight of my week can I get one of Rics rants or sayings into a professional conversation.
Im still working on it’s like choosing between a bag of shit or a mug of sick… I’ll keep you updated.
Anyway, thanks for the Pod Lads and doing something to keep us all smiling.

It's therapy for me mate.........Went down to Filbo and the KP for 40 odd years.Live away from Leicester now and i'm glad that the lads on the pod feel exactly as i do!

Its incredible how it works exactly like that. Therapy. Over the last two seasons, without it, I am not sure how I wouldve coped. I have never met the three hosts. But I'll refer to them by first name as if they are all my mates for years!

When's the next one then lads?

We were set to record at 11pm last night but I had to bail, thats how difficult our schedule is this week. Might not now record until the weekend but will try and do something before.

Might as well save the next one till after Pompey have battered us and have a 5 hour directors cut edition dissecting our relegation lol

It’s class that Jake has put Anonymous F.O.X.’s finest work on separate podcasts to make for easy access.

I am visualising cruising down the picturesque part of the A34 freeway, sunglasses on, arm out of the window, Free Chang For You blasting out, singing along (“but we’re starting Aa-yew” 😀).

There’s got to be something to look forward to this weekend.

League One again, Naturally by Peter Gilbert O'Sullivan

[Verse 1]
Oh, in a few months from now
If I'm not feeling any less sour
I promised myself
To treat myself
And visit a Mansfield Town

And sitting in the kop
hearing a pin drop
We make no effort to
Avoid League 2
When we play Bromley and get battered

Left watching Jannick lurch, like a birch
Tree that is swaying
"My God, why did you
Let them run straight through?
3 down with 10 remaining

We may as well go home"
As I did on my own
League 1 again, naturally

[Verse 2]
Feels like only yesterday
European football we could play
against Seville
Or a semi final
We travelled to Rome away

But our incompetence knows no bounds
Reality came around
Rudkin showed so much
Reverse Midus touch
Left a squad that was pure faeces

Waiting to descend
The U-Bend, of English football
In the drop zone flushed away
into total freefall

A useless bunch of clowns
Who always let you down
League 1 again, naturally

[Bridge]
It seems to me that there are so many tickets not renewed
That can't be mended
Ground unattended
What do we do?
What do we do?

[Classical Guitar Break]

[Pre-Verse]
League 1 again, naturally

[Verse 3]
Now looking back over this year
There's been very little for us to cheer
We hit the bricks
Got a minus six
And some half price training gear

And in a King Power sweater
An angry pair of Ginetta's
Couldn't understand
Why the other fans
About Top rude words had spoken

It was clear from the start
With a club so badly broken
Despite promising changes to us
No actions were ever taken

And with no lessons learned
We obliviously returned
League 1 again, naturally
League 1 again, naturally
