I’ve been saying for weeks now that there is no chance we are spending any actual money, maybe a loan or two on deadline day but thats all we are getting alongside a few more outgoings.

Everything is all good !!
Im a real happy clapper

Who'd have thought we'd say "Rudkin" and "one of the most successful transfer windows in years" in the same sentence?$

You can't but applaud him for

a) offloading all the excess baggage

b) getting decent amount of money for younger players

This. I hope we haven't made basic errors and not got Jordan James over the line because that would have been a fantastic deal, but even if we haven't got them over the line, I think overall we've taken a big step in the right direction this window.

Really?? Yea the outgoings have been great but I think we are still light with quality players we made 1 signing? Unless I’m missing something

Two so far, with potentially more loan players to follow.

I accept there could well be more announcements to follow but as it stands I think that's quite a generous assessment of our window

So we've signed one striker on loan and let an academy talent go on loan to a division lower than he was playing last season. Piss poor.

Exactly this.

We have moved players on after we had an overpaid, bloated and unbalanced squad.

We broke all sorts of unwanted records last season, what player refresh have we undertaken to stop the rot?

Surely you’re not serious?!

So we’ve sold some solid squad players (like Justin, Ndidi and McAteer) and two of our three best players (Hermansen and BEK) for fees that could have been much higher. And then we’ve just borrowed a couple of other players and signed a freebie.

Meanwhile Daka, Faes and Soumare are still here taking home decent wages and on that pathway to being more players we paid sizeable fees for and they walk out the door for nothing.

This window - and the virtually zero spent - shows that the financial situation at the club is much worse than anyone probably anticipated at the start of it. And that’s a situation for which Rudkin is largely culpable.

I did not say the redemption arc was complete.

What we think players are worth and what they are actually worth are two different pairs of shoes.

Also, we still don't know much about potential sell-on clauses.

Calling Justin "solid" is quite an exaggeration, I remember him being bit of a bombscare as a defender (as he tended to join attacks too often, leaving his flank exposed).

I've addressed my dissatisfaction with Daka, Faes and Soumaré numerous times, and I'm still hopeful we'll sell at least one of them for a decent amount of money sooner than later (the Saudi League's transfer window is open for a few more days).

It’s literally his job! That he’s paid handsomely to do and hasn’t done properly for a period of time where in which his inadequacy has made the football club a laughing stock.

The bar is so, so low. Standards non-existent at the football club.

Well, better a late epiphany than never.

It’s way past late mush. As I say, the standards have been lowered so far at the club that they basically get away with anything considered even slightly positive.

Well not going to be a nagative nancy, but this window has been a suprise, in a good way (with the clean out). Ye ye no where near perfect but a nice start TO HOW we should be looking to move forward.

Not going to list the players we still have or players we could/should have got, im not that repetative & boring :D

But i am for sure, nicely suprised how we have done.

Still think he is a **** and the sooner he goes the better, but at least this window has been positive, even if mostly for outgoings.

Behave. Faes, Vestergaard, Daka, BDCR, Winks, Soumare et al still here.

Swamp hasn't been drained. We've just sold all our of saleable assets.

Reminder that a loan with an option to buy is a liability rather than an asset. To keep them we’ll have to spend and if we don’t then the squad gets smaller and we lose value vs having even the solid yet unspectacular players like McAteer, Ndidi and Justin on the roster.

Its not a ‘clear out’ if the vast majority of players leaving are the ones in the middle of the pack rather than those who detract rather than add value at the bottom of the pack (Decordova-Reid, Faes, Soumare, Daka etc)
