Was my first thought too. On reflection I’m prepared to row back on all of my principles if it results in some clean

How good is he at tactics.. don't know much about his footballing gameplay

He likes 4-3-3 / 4-3-2-1. If my memory serves correctly, as Villa manager he only once played 352. He likes fast and creative wide men and does favour a lone striker. He likes to keep the ball on the turf and he does try and play nice football. His weakness would be changing the shape during a game if things are not going well

I agree with this, but in the same breath I think a few of our players come across as shallow for fame and would love the opportunity to impress someone like Terry if he can be convinced to come.

GERRIMIN! lol

If John Terry joins Smiths backroom team, will we have to pause each home game on the 26th minute to laud him with a guard of honour?!

Underwhelmed. But if I’m being positive this team is quite Pearsonesque in that I expect honesty and straight talking, which will be refreshing after all the Brendan management speak.

He's the sort of person that the players will respect. How do you think Jamie Vardy would react to a Ted Lasso wannabe? Not in the same way as he would to a Champions League winning player and former England Captain, that's for sure. These things do matter, especially with Shakespeare back at the club too. This will apply to Maddison, KDH, probably everyone other than Tete.

In the final games it's not about the style of the play, it's about results. Got to go back to the Great Escape where games were frenetic, but we won them through sheer force of will.

I really wonder what Shakespeare will make of it all. I suspect he will think it's all got soft compared to the last time he was around. If we do go down, I hope they keep him on in some form because we've lost one of the most important parts of our identity since he left, "foxes never quit." In recent games, the players give up as soon as they cross the touchline and can't handle the pressure.

I’ve heard that Vardy takes the piss out of Alves for having a foreign name. Imagine him under Marsch!

You mean the bloke with Vardy, Kane and Drinkwater on the bench? Clearly knows **** all :ph34r:lol

A crazy sight in hindsight huh? Think it was leg two of the Watford play off game at Vicarage Road - Deeney gate

Yeah, he is not perfect but I would take him back at Villa every single day ahead of BR or Marsch. He has positives neither of them have

I think Marsch was a genius ploy by Top - pretend to be hiring someone truly awful, and then sneak in Dean Smith who is just awful. Fans accept it with relief and a hint of optimism.

Happy that it looks like Terry is going to be involved too.

We had the best defense in the Championship after JT joined us.

Of course it’s long term. He’ll get 4 points in the next 8 and this club will give him a 5 year deal.

interim is decent, the best we're going to get

Exactly this.

We just need someone in quickly, on a short term basis.

This is the best we are likely to get, even though it’s pretty dire.

I really hope that we tried fat Sam first, and it appears we did try Rafa but for whatever reason that didn’t work.

it’s better than the two morons that have been leading us for the last two games, and better than Brendan.

LETS FXCKIN AV IT!

Worked on me for sure. I had to get a few tins down me before I could start to consider anything positive from Jesse.
