Have they mentioned the strategy yet? I've only got internet updates so unsure how we're planning to play it out, is it slog it til lunch, keep going til we're bowled out, declare at 150 up?

They'll want/need more than 150 I think.

TMS guys not enjoying the aussie approach this morning.

Aussies aren't in a rush so happy to spread the field and let the game go by.

It's something that Test sides can do with impunity. ICC need to start awarding penalty runs for this nonsense.

Funny how it’s ok for Sunderland to play away to QPR at 1245 on a Saturday though

All that tells you is that the people that run football treat paying customers with total contempt.

Unfortunately, because people still turn up, they know that they can get away with it, because enough people bend over. And ultimately, that's on those that choose to bend.

Stokes chops on, sadly.

Both he and Brook started lightning quick then it went quiet for the past 15-20 mins.

Hopefully Bairstow can pick up the pace.

63 in the first hour is 25 light from where they wanted I reckon

will want 100 in the second hour but going to struggle the way the Aussies are now bowling. Of course if they do take the new ball then that may make it more interesting in both directions

Teams should surely be allowed to set whatever field they want. And if it suits them to keep the scoring down to a reasonable rate but not necessarily try to get wickets quickly, that's fine too.

Unusual position Australia are in - given the weather forecast, the best thing they can do is not get England out - as long as they're not scoring fast.

I'm more on about over rates in general.

I've only just started watching. Have they batted this conservatively all morning? Seems an odd time in the series to start playing sensibly!

It seems a tad churlish to be too harsh on them for learning as they go along.

Willing to give the Aussies a small slice of credit for bowling to a plan and forcing the game to slow down a bit. I thought they were dreadful yesterday afternoon in the field but better today IMO.

PMSL at some of you. It's all fine.

It's a very dominant display. I'm quite enjoying watching Australia being very un Australian in their approach. It will be very interesting to see how this passive attitude affects their mental state when they are batting.  Looks like we are going after the new ball. Come on Bairstow - the stage is set!

I don't mind the "Same old Aussies always cheating" but Starcs foot was a mile in.

Nope. First 20ish minutes they were going for it. Picked up quite a few boundaries.

Aus changed their tactic up, bowled short and stuck 3 men on the boundary. Made it harder to score runs.
