I was in the front row of the double decker, right above the goal. We were under intense pressure towards the end, and one of our defenders, Marc North I think, headed a corner out from under the crossbar. Strangely, I remember that more than the goal.

Great memories.  Great day.  I was on the pitch at the end with what felt like everyone else who was there.

The one and only time I stood on the hallowed turf.

What a day that was...

Strange game and atmosphere considering there were many more there than the official attendance. The Oxford fans were put in the double decker.Which meant everyone’s attention was on the game. All very nerve racking.

As soon as James had scored I knew we’d win and all that mattered was what was going on at Twerton Park.

Yeah, it was Marc North. I've always remembered that header. And his thunderbolt goal (v Swindon, was it? Late equaliser? Might be completely wrong, it was a long time ago now).

Anyway, RIP Marc.

Amazing how many of us rubbed shoulders that day without ever knowing! It seems to be one of those things that stay with you, 9/11, the queen dying and Tony James nutting in a winner against Oxford.

I too was near the front of the double decker as a 10 year old... I remember some bloke around me saying he had to get on the pitch and hopped over the side of the double decker the mad bastard

Was in the members' terrace. Colin Gibson on the bench came over to the terrace to clarify the game at twerton had ended as we all were shouting 'it's ok, just hang on' and he passed on the news to the bench and on field players.

Us on that terrace was amongst the first on the pitch. I ran past Steve Walsh. I can remember the quiet. The running was pure joy. No shouting. Just ran. Just relief

It was a nervous wait for the result from Bristol Rovers to hear West Brom didn't get the points required to overtake us.

I remember after the game we went to a night club and they played this.

We were all on the dance floor singing "It's a shaaaaaame, that your West Brom's going down"

You had to be there :D

Remember Marc North heading off the line, think it was Mark Stein who almost scored.

Goal was a real scramble, Tony James hooked it in.

Don't remember much more other than being let out of the yellow gate in sk3 and onto the pitch at the end.

Remember it well, I was in SK2 from memory, May 1991 v Oxford. A scrambled late winner from TJ! Luckily only two went down that season from the second tier, and WBA's inability to win at Bristol Rovers meant we were saved. Otherwise we would have been relegated to the third tier for the first time ever had that not been the case. Instead we had to wait until the disastrous end of 2007-08 for that happen of course - which ironically would all lead to us winning the Prem. less than a decade later I felt, in a roundabout sort of way - one Nigel Pearson!!

More like a semi fortuitous go for broke overhead hook in!

Yep I was there in the Double Decker with my Dad, as a 5 year old.

I always said the goal was last minute until he corrected me and told me it wasn't. Think it was just my brain trying to create even more drama.
