Tactics? Ability? Square pegs round holes?

None of the above .

Just one of those halves of football I guess.

Sounds daft I know but they are playing very well.

U18’s lost 3-1 after extra time

U16’s had a whole host of u15’s in the squad so a tremendous result ( although Sunderland may have been in the same boat for all we know )

Why do we have to find out from a Spanish fella on x what the results were?

surely the club should be doing this ????

Weird isn't it?

The club should be screaming about our next generation and how they're progressing

Are we actually surprised ?

amateur hour yet again ………

suppose there’s no commercial reason to do it - so it doesn’t get done

My best guess is that the clubs duty of care to children, is of higher importance than anything else.

Not expecting loads of photos and information but a tweet or small entry on the website noting the game and result  ??.

i mean the kids themselves would surely appreciate that ??

What's the upside?

There isn't one for the club, so you won't get any information.

Surely it's because that's what many fans want, do they not matter anymore?

Going tonight, two games in a short space of time so image there will be plenty of changes, maybe a chance or two for the U18's.

Academy and youth teams were visited by the First team at Seagrave yesterday- maybe to get some tips on how not to bottle it/ score/ create chances!!

Don’t think we’ve ever mattered mate. It’s just how we as fans can cause the least havoc/work for the club.

But I guess a twitter/Instagram account could generate a small additional income for the club? Probably next to nothing though.

Did I write this?

I wrote NOTHING is more important than the children's welfare to the club.

If it upsets a minority of fans... No the club doesn't care, and rightly so.

I don't understand why this would be a point of contention?

The club must consider all of the possibilities ,not just the positives.

I don't understand how their welfare is threatened by giving out basic details of their games or am I misinterpreting this conversation?

Maybe so. However it's just the tip of an information iceburg. We can think about the what ifs... But you'll be there a lifetime.

Once again, the club wouldn't benefit so there is no value in it at all.

If we lived in a perfect world, and all our intentions were pure as just wanting to know the result, celebrate the positives...  Then great. But sadly there are a spectrum of people, with a spectrum of interests.

Where can you draw that line?

The law says a child is any person under 18. That's the line for the club.

There’s no need to include photos on a tweet, no? and names aren’t on the back of shirts anyway.

As for press attention for players under 18, there’s plenty, and increasing amounts. Look at Trey Nyoni for example. Fab posted about him this summer when he was 15 or summin.

I understand why they don’t do it though.

Surprised Rooney was allowed to play for Everton when he was 16. Sky should be disgusted with themselves for showing it.

There's absolutely no excuse not to make a post congratulating the u16s for making a final lol.

They didn't do it because they're not arsed. I doubt half the people involved in running the club are even aware.

They don’t make a song and dance about the U23 either.
It’s clearly a mindset within the club - you can’t complain that the fans aren’t fully invested in supporting the club and not do this imo
