The Mirror are reporting that Coady was pushing for the move to Wolves. That’s his reputation here shot to pieces then.

A supposed leader trying to cut and run when the tough gets going. But it’s ok because he goes on podcasts and says the right thing.

That’s the Mirror tho little brother of the Sun only good for one thing lining the bottom of a cat litter tray to soak up the Schitt it always delivers !!

Absolute joker. Did that podcast (the main focus of his career now) the other day saying how the "togetherness is unbelievable" and then a few days later there's reports of him trying to get back to Wolves. And this from a so called "leader". About sums us up.

Should of gone one less trash defender in the team to watch!!

I wonder if he will leave in the summer when we get relegated?

I’d love to see it happen but can’t imagine many mugs paying his obscene wages (in comparison to his actual ability).

He wasn’t deemed good enough for Wolves or a poor Everton two years ago.

That's not true in our case. Bruno Lage wanted rid of him because he led the dressing room. The same happened to others in that leadership group such as Willy Boly and Romain Saiss who were also summarily shipped out.

Both Coady and the fans never wanted him to leave, but he had no choice as Lage made it clear he wasn't wanted and wouldn't play.

You can get a good laugh going back to Page 1 of this thread and seeing the comments to be fair.

Many, me included, were fooled by the waffling scouser.

To be fair, you know your club better than myself but a quick look on Wiki also shows that when you guys sold him to us it wasn’t Lage but Lopetegui in charge so clearly that’s two managers who didn’t fancy him?

He'd never been part of Lopetegui's setup and had been promised his own players that summer of 2023. Plus Lopetegui ultimately wanted to move to a back four so was probably told that Coady couldn't do that.

It's ultimately a shame how things have worked out for him. He signed the same time Maresca took control at Leicester so I doubt he even wanted him even though he probably signed off on the signing.

Did Maresca ever play a back three? Maybe once or twice, I can't remember.

Should never play for LCFC again. Will do though as the club has no standards.

So we cant play Coady again and we all want Faes to never play again either. That just leaves Jannick who most of us never want to play for the club again and Okoli.

Good times for the CB position.

I always understood it to be someone whom Maresca absolutely had in his plans to start...and possibly make captain. The problem was he broke his foot in the final pre-season game, we played Faes and Vestergaard gameweek 1 and never looked back unfortunately.

No way. When Evans played he was quality. The last season it was shocking how he pulled out of games "injured", but at least season's before he was good for us and cost us less than £5m.

Coady has offered nothing, cost the club £8m plus a stupid high wage probably. Waste of time.

Again we have to ask who signed the transfer off when the manager did not even want him?

Well we could probably conclude the director of football, but we don't know for certain and I'm reluctant to conclude anything without absolute proof on the matter....

Epitomises the culture at the club to be honest.

For that, I don't blame Coady.

But what I do blame him for is trying to escape and not actually do what a supposed 'leader' should. It's behaviour of rats fleeing a sinking ship.

Part of me doesn't blame him for wanting out but don't do your podcast praising the togetherness then want to leave so desperately anyway.

Yep. Totally broken isn't it. But sums up the level of contempt the club has for its fans and the city.

At least we get to watch them embarrass themselves, I guess.
