Coady's major issue is he gets one game every 3 months. That would be tough for any player. Play him for 4 or 5 in a row in a settled formation with a consistent partner and he'd be fine but he just gets parachuted in and then benched again.

 

And tbh, I'd still play him over Sideshow Beckenbauer at the back.

Whoever is responsible for Coady, Cannon, BDCR and Skipp wants shooting. Multiple millions right there on absolutely nothing.

Can't agree on Cannon. Came in last season and scored, dropped for Daka FFS. He's still a young kid and has been scoring bangers this season. Should be the cover for Vardy this season not Patson and his Toblerone shaped boots.

Id suggest maybe switching it up and going with Faes and Vesty, clearly have chemistry and also vital experience.

 

Coady can only play in a 3 , his pace and rust is worrying. 

All of our defenders are not good enough for the prem. Proper problem, especially as the midfield is not very good either

But he’s not here playing, so he’s a waste of money. Might not be his fault but we spent £7m on a player we’d clearly not adequately researched.

I know there's been a few but from being a biggish name with a good reputation I'm struggling to think of a less underwhelming signing we've made 

 

Lurched from mediocre to crap with the majority of time him being crap. 

 

Not good enough to have around the place purely for his scouse wit - I'd get shot if there's any chance of recouping any money or getting him off of the wage bill but that looks forlorn.

Said when we signed him it was a horrendous decision and sad to have been proven right. The club will never escape ffp if they keep making stinking decisions like this

I don’t totally agree with this… Coady, appeared a good signing last season, he just never established himself and has since just never been able to get into the side. Cannon is a young lad who showed some promise but for whatever reason wasn’t fancied by either manager. And Skipp has barely played, when he first started he looked decent, since then he’s had a hand full of minutes……. Fulham wanted BDCR to stay on so he must have something about him? 
 

All of those signings made sense to me at the time, every signing is a gamble, and even some that appear to be good may not work out…….

In fairness to him, he’s never had a run of games here. Been underwhelming at best when he has played but realistically he needs more games in order to be judged and right now, we might as well give him it. I don’t think faes in particular should be picked over him

Sometimes watching some of this first 11 playing id  rather have some of the hungry young lads playing like Alves etc rather than some of the dross we’ve been having to put up with recently !

FFS CITY SORT YOUR SCHITT OUT FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFSSSS !

I think when we look at the signing of Coady we have to go back in time to put it into context.  We had just suffered a wholly avoidable relegation with players that  should not have been anywhere near the bottom of the table, but the team was broken, rudderless and crushed in spirit.  In that context. a signing like Coady makes perfect sense.  An experienced character and a leader.  Something we were severely lacking.

 

The signing didn't really work out with the benefit of hindsight.  It was Enzo's greatest achievement imo, that he patched that team up and rebuilt it's spirit so quickly and Coady was never needed.  Ths club has made plenty of questionable signings in recent years, but for me Coady made sense at the time.

Player without a real run of games comes in to an awfully performing side and doesn’t do well, shock, instantly becomes scapegoat. Seems fair.

What's he being made a scapegoat for exactly? I don't think anyone's blaming the result or performance on him, just pointing out - correctly - he isn't very good which also presumably has quite a lot to do with him never getting a run of games.

Apart from a freak game against Pompey cannon hasn't done anything at Championship level this season.
