He got a very early knock shortly after kickoff, he was limping for a couple of minutes afterwards. But seemed to run it off and was fine after that until HT. Hopefully won't be too bad (unless it's one of those silent ACLs like Ricky's..)

We didn’t mishandle him, he didn’t want to stay and compete to play in that role

But we weren't keeping Kristiansen on the basis that 3 of the players ahead of him get injured. And he wouldn't have wanted that either.

He should have been sold the role better. From reading his comments from Bologna, he didn’t seem to understand that it still is a LB role, essentially. You only need to see Doyle’s heat map to appreciate this.

It's a 46 game season, we were always going to get injuries. I wouldn't be surprised if even with our squad, we are thin in January with AFCON and tons of games to play.

 

In some ways it might even give other players a chance to stake their claim in the team, like McAteer and Vestergaard have done.

Yep, it was a 50/50 about 2 minutes in.

Also. If and when Ricardo does get injured. We are seriously fvcked now.

What's your source for us mishandling Kristiansen or are you just chatting nonsense? Plus we have Justin as back up. Can't have the luxury of 3 players for every position when we only have a 25 man squad. Plus I trust Enzos judgement and if he didn't fancy Kristiansen then that's fine by me.

How much depth do you want for one position? If Doyle gets injured, we play Justin there. If Justin gets injured we put Riccy there and play Hamza at RB. Then we're onto a 4th choice if they all end up buggered. It's not really something to legislate a player for is it?
