23/24 Injuries Thread

I would say plantar fascitis. A nagging, painful condition that can take time to recover from. Jonny Evans had it. Hopefully it's not that.

Well at least Coady will still be available for international duty 😅

Why has it taken so long for a scan?! They probably have LCFC badged scanners at Seagrave.

Scan has probably already been done, and them seeking specialist advice/recovery begun

Telling us this just strings the narrative along that he's out. Also clouds what's happening for our first game more.

Exactly what I thought - a week ago wasn’t it - waiting for a scan - what a pathetic sentence that is

Wasn't there injury concerns with him at Everton...how many games did he play there.

No wonder Dyche didn't want him there.

I don't think so, pretty sure it boiled down to Coady just just being a very good centre back and having better options.

broken metatarsal

Surely that would've been picked up on a simple x-ray.

The fact it is undiagnosed 8 or 9 days after it happened is concerning.

All squads have at least 1 or 2 long term injuries each season. We normally have 4 or 5. We just have to suck it up and I'd take 1 or 2 long term if we have to

I suspect it’s a hairline break which was picked up on the scan but not an x ray

if that’s true then it should heal a bit faster

EDIT: then I read Bert’s post which if true, would surely mean an op ??

As with so many of these things -  we don't know what the actual situation is, whether it remains undiagnosed or not - if it was undiagnosed, i'm not sure why maresca would have said  it was 'not good' - you don't say that unless you have some idea of what the problem is, maybe this new scan is simply to determine the extent of the problem :dunno:

Sometimes it’s as simple as needing the swelling to go down. As x rays can be ‘shadowy’ with it.

Or maybe he learnt off Rodgers that giving a timespan to an injury isn’t the wise thing to do. He constantly left his own booty traps for fans to hold him too naming time scales for injuries

My lad is in the forces and got 2 stress fractures and kept going including a 5 day excercise carrying 70KG.

Developed into a broken bone on one.

currently in rehab they’ve said 5-6 weeks.

2 for stress.

Probably same level of fitness, but without the contact.

They eye on the side of caution due to heavy weights and amount of punishment the foot takes, but said it’s getting the fitness back that’s the problem.

I'd assume fitness can be maintained for players through swimming and anti grav treadmill
