23/24 Injuries Thread

Has any research gone into the composition of the turf on our training pitches? Surely if we've got such a renowned turf academy we ought to know what's best for the players.

Because honestly, that's the only thing I can think of that would influence these types of soft tissue injuries. It's well-known that artificial turf tends to increase the risk of injury and afaik our training pitches are a mix of real and artificial.

I dont think the old training ground had all that gym equipment either?

FFS

Start of October for Coady then

Not massively fussed about Mads for tomorrow, Jakubs height might be a bit more advantageous.

we should be a little worried with the way our defence parted like moses had commanded them to.

If we had jakub in net, we’d have conceded at least 2 of them imo

Hermansen?

“We have a session this afternoon and it depends on the session. Then we’ll take a decision.”

Other injuries?

“Victor is back, Conor is out, Kasey is out. They are still doing some tests. It’s something in his foot. Hopefully he’ll be back in 10 days.”

Is the 10 day time frame for Conor or Kasey?

Can't be 10 days for Coady unless he's a very quick healer. Don't expect to see him until after the international break at the earliest. Sounds like McAteer has also broken his foot :dunno:

That’s what I was assuming, so another foot injury ffs.

If it’s ten days then that about three weeks total - won’t be anything broken in that time frame

Praet

“He’s still injured. It’s a muscle problem.”

McAteer

“He works with us the last two days very good. He’s almost fit.”

Any fresh concerns?

“No.”

Did Praet visit home and have a dodgy Moules-frites

Or is the muscle problem a case that he legs simply aren't used to moving around for 90 minutes?

Coady?

“He has trained with us for the last days. He started to be better. Tomorrow he can be in the squad. Yes, but Conor is so important but even if he is not 100 per cent, it’s good to have him with us.”

Other injuries?

“No. Dennis is still out. Tom Cannon is out with some problems. I don’t know how long (Cannon is out for).”
