Nah, if we somehow make the final I think we'll fluke enough to win it. But I really can't see that happening.

Like in 2007 when we beat France in the semi in Paris.

Cannot see it though.

Well that was very close again .

Seemed to go to pot for 5 minutes then wake up in the final 10 minutes .

Thank god for that. I couldn’t take being dumped out of world cups by Afghanistan and Fiji in the same day lol

Brilliant effort from Fiji.

The quarter finals have been great so far. Mad how much they drag out the pools for the good stuff to be over so quickly.

Very entertaining match and great characterfrom Fiji to come back and for England to not panic and seal the win at the end.

Quality wise was light years behind last nights match lets be honest. Either of NZ and Ireland's performances from last night would have been a 25+ point defeat for either of these teams.

Wonder what price it was before things started for England to be the NH team that went furthest at this tournament?

Reckon France have the best chance

What another great game. So pleased that Fiji took it to them today and tested England's mettle. What they needed - really dug in. Very physical test. At 24 all, expected them to crumble. Borthwick's best game so far.

What an entertaining weekend's rugby though.

Disagree. It was a different dynamic. I do think that both All Blacks or Ireland would have beaten either England or Fiji, but not by that margin.

England essentially won that through forcing the penalties, upsetting and closing down Fiji's insane offloading strength and racking up a points margin/buffer in the first half - taking the kicks and points when presented - lesson to Ireland perhaps? What was different about England today was the way they showed resilience at the end, managed the game and responded to Fiji's late momentum shift. The back row was outstanding tonight. Ben Earl - what a performance!

Great game..

Fiji deserved their quarter final moment..,but even then with their replacement

big dogs,England held..Fiji played their underdog role, many hearts, embraced

them in this game..Farrell led the English team with smart descisions..

Lets not forget everyone was wiping England off in the qualification rounds…

Well England fans let’s crow & growl, and prove we still have our thorns that cause

havoc among the Roses…

People sometimes forget the bulldog spirit, with not little skill and power,we have..

Again we hold the banner for the Home  countries and prod forward with France the

NH cause.

These finals were really too early for Borthwick, but he took on the unwanted poisoned chalice. Even talk he should be replaced, backward country pundits & fans!
Time will be our strength & challenge..Old & new players will with Borthwick will take us forward..

England helped a fresh nation to also bring their own challenge forward.

Fiji proved they belong in ,

joining with  Argentina the so called tier 1 Nations of Rugby.

Its slow progress, but both Rugby & Football, have new nations that should take

pride in their developement & progress.

Tonight a French victory would be welcome…

But NZ and S.A will take some beating ,for a place in the Final.

Though France,England,Argentina ,have that something special to upset the odds..

You're on your own here. None of the "home" countries want you to win and I'd rather crawl over broken glass than see England win 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

Why is it - be it football or rugby, every nation's teams other than England are capable of singing their national anthems in time and in key?

So  is it Northern Hemisphere solidarity tonight?

Think I'd rather England play SA on a neutral ground in the semi's tbh

Because it's so shite. Even your lot can't be arsed singing it
