Only Alisson and Kepa have ever cost more than £50m. Onana was the best goalkeeper in the Champions League in 22/23 and was sold for £43.8m.

I'm not saying we won't ask for more but I'd be surprised if anyone went above £50m for him.

Liverpool spent around £30m for Mamardashvilli and he's seen as one of the next best goalkeepers in the world. Raya cost less than £30m, too.

Onana? The Inter back 4 had to have heavily influenced that and the Utd Tax the price. De Gea was still a better option when they signed him, for me.

I understand the argument where Mamardashvili and Raya are concerned, and the getting over £50m should we have to sell, however, I have never, ever watched Onana and thought he was a top goalkeeper. In all fairness I’m struggling to remember him having a good game since arriving in England. He seems to instill panic in the United back 4 for me, they don’t seem to trust him every time I watch them and it adds to their issues.

Mads does the opposite for us IMO, single handedly saves us week after week. If you asked me to swap I honestly don’t think I would at this moment.

Swap Onana for Mads? I wouldn’t swap them now or ever.

The only thing going for Onana’s CV is that he plays (poorly) for Man Utd. He’s terrible in regards the level he’s expected to be playing at. That level, again is only high because he’s at Man Utd, he could have a West Brom shirt on and nobody would bat an eye!

Onana made a weird mistake in their last game, but he has been one of the best keepers in the league this season. Seems like you only want to remember his performances last season, but he’s been really good since summer.

Again, I’m not so sure Maresca will come for Mads since he already has Jörgensen. He has performed really well when given the chance and I suspect the only reason Sanchez is still in goal is to not put pressure on a 22 yo keeper new to the league. If he keeps making big mistakes, Maresca might be forced to let Jörgensen start in the league soon and if not, he’ll probably be no. 1 next season.

I think it's worth more money keeping him, than the money we'd get by selling him.

Beggars may not be choosers but I agree as he's secured us 4 points this week - He'll be better than Kasper

If we sell him for big money in the Summer after staying up it will be job well done by the club to be fair to them.

We get two great seasons out of him, and the profit to roll over into the squad.

...if only our recruitment could be relied upon...

Would be a shame to lose him so soon, but this is the model. Players are always one injury away from losing almost all of their value like we saw with Ricardo, so it's too big a risk refusing big offers.

if chelsea want to give us chilwell, tosin and kdh back in jan they can have mads

Does KDH come with £60m in his pocket?

Nothing Chelsea have would be worth swapping Mads for

Better to keep him this season. He's worth more than a couple of mediocre defenders at overinflated prices in January.

Keepers less likely to get injured than outfield players

The one i am genuinely worried about in the January window. Match of the day yesterday they made a comment that Chelsea are probably a GK and one other away from mounting a title challenge. I can see Chelsea making a late charge for him and gambling on trying to win the title. Regardless, wil be gone in the summer so we need to make sure Jakub is ready to take over.

Beat me to it, I was just about to press submit.

i don't see it at all. looks like an accident waiting to happen and makes easy saves look like hard saves.

He has enough credit in the bank already to get a big move in the summer. We simply cannot afford to sell him in January.

Wouldnt surprise me to see Chelsea look at Brighton's keeper, couple of years younger and is as good as playing out of the back as Mads.

Haven't Chelsea already signed at least 1 up and coming keeper already, there is one joining next summer already isn't there?

Obviously everyone basing it on the Enzo link but I'd be suprised if Chelsea went in for another keeper (although with Chelsea you can never be sure)

Man City need a bit of a overhaul (slight exaggeration maybe) but could be interest there.

A goalkeeper like him is worth more than money ... we look at the guys we have had replacing Schmeichel... of course, I am terrified with Ward even on the bench. And what the name of that horrifying German that came in after we won the Premier League?
