We have a few players in the last year of contract, Ndidi, Iheanacho, Vardy ,Choudhury, Praet , Albrighton & Vestergaard. We will free up salary but will need to purchase replacements so next summer will be very interesting financially.

I think we need to be very cut throat in January and hope we don't lose someone important. Dread someone putting a silly offer in for KDH.

Ndidi seems really happy - maybe we can get him to sign a new deal? I think he can take this role into the PL. Nacho we should sell. Won't be getting huge offers but lets offload now and get this out of the way. Send Praet to Torino and hope we never see him again. Sell Vestergaard as well. Again, won't be getting huge offers but after his renaissance there will be suitors.

Albrighton and Vardy need to retire end of season.  Choudhury i am not sure. Depends how he performs in the next few games to see if a new deal is worth it.

I don't understand why there hasn't been any updates on the stadium expansion, infrastructure development is irrelevant to FFP, so I wonder what the reason is that they're not getting on with it in the Championship.

I haven't followed the story closely but I'm gonna guess that the development will be financed by  investment bonds and those bond vakues are in the peripheral development of retail, residential and leisure. Until that sorted and then buyers found, there ain't no development

Vestergaard won’t go anywhere in jan when he’s a free agent six months later

I’d say the same for any of the players OOC next June

I'm more concerned about losing our manager. The sacking season starts soon.

I would be very surprised if Maresca was tempted away before winning promotion. Leicester have given him free rein to implement his plan & build his reputation .

We won’t be able to sell Nacho now. He goes on a free or he stays.

Afcon in January, nobody will pay for him.

Money talks and he's very ambitious.

Selling Vestergaard if he's playing well would be daft, getting promoted is priority.

We have a bloke called Coady. Come January there will be CB injuries galore in the PL. Shifting Vestys wages and replacing should be a priority. The redemption story is lovely, but he’s not the future for us.

Makes it more difficult but it’s doable.  Bottom 6 in the PL will likely gamble on his wages.

I think it’s fanciful to be honest, we will see I guess.

He'd look disloyal in his first ever UK managerial half a job, he's not achieved anything yet.

Why jump ship from a prospect of success to a Premiership club that would most likely be in a relegation battle and risk of mediocrity? There's also a good chance that knowing Leicester, he's also already on a good financial package too. Yes, he's ambitious but he's not stupid and if he gets us promoted his stock will rise a lot higher than it will have done by January, we're the best risk he could possibly get at the moment.

I can't agree with this.  Even with parachute payments we lose £60m in broadcast revenue straight away.  Also, we sold Maddison and Barnes at half their true value imo due to relegation.

Yes, we needed a refresh, but I don't see any benefit in going down to The Championship to do it.  If we were still a PL team we would have more money to spend and be able to get PL players.  If we do go up, we will have to spend big to get PL quality players anyway.  In other words, we may have to buy twice in some cases.  We threw away ten years of growth in that shambolic last season.  If we go up again, we start again, from scratch, at the bottom of the pile.

One thing I can't really understand is how we were bottom of the net spend table over the previous five years for clubs that had spent all five years in The PL.  I know we paid big wages, but how come we were so skint if our net spend was so low?

There is no way Barnes was worth anything like £75m! We sold him for a fair price and Maddison with one year left was not far short of what he was worth at the time either.

I don’t think we would have signed Hermansen, Winks, Mavididi or Fatawu  if we had stayed in the Prem. The young players like McAteer wouldn’t have been given a chance either. We would have signed more expensive players on bigger contracts. Probably wouldn’t have gone for an unproven Maresca either. So we could actually end up being in a better position on and off the pitch if we do manage to go up this season.

Harvey Barnes scored 13 goals in 34 league games in a totally dysfunctional side last year.  I wonder where you can buy one of those for £40m?

Your point that buying cheaper Championship players is somehow better than staying in The Premier League and buying PL ready players seems somewhat back to front.  If we were in the PL we would have more money to buy more expensive (ie better) players and if we go up we will have to invest in those players anyway.

I had forgotten how low the standard is in The Championship, it is no gauge to how players will perform in The Premier League.   Just ask a Blades fan.

I'm not going back over Harvey Barnes again. If you somehow think he's worth £75m then good for you.

It's about the quality of recruitment to fit your system, not just saying more expensive players are better Ask Brighton or Chelsea fans. Obviously if we don't go up, then things haven't worked out for us. However if we get promoted and have a squad mixed with Premier League experience alongside some good young talent and a manager with a clear vision, then I would prefer that to Rafa Benitez in the Premier League flirting with relegation.

You can add the Internal Stewards on Relegation to this list.  Still waiting for the Foxes Trust to come back on their discussions with Dufkin and Susan.  Silence is Golden.

I would like to take this discussion on further but I can see that you're getting irritable so I'll leave it.

I understand that but the Clubs in the premier who will be firing will be in relegation battles so he would risk ending back in the Champ while Leicester are in the Premier . Poor percentage move in my mind !!
