Made my first ever Roman pizza this evening. Always been a fan of thin crust  pizzas so never tried to make one before.

Yes it takes 72 hours to make the dough which is a bit of a ball ache, but it was so good. Really really light and just went down without even hitting the sides. Now in a carb coma...

Least artistic man on earth so the photos and my pizza dressing are obviously shite but you get the picture!

This thread is killing me! Why do i do it to myself? lol

My tea tonight is a 2 oz packet of Tuna with a teaspoon of Mayonnaise.

I still cant eat properly 6 weeks after surgery :(

That sounds grim in both fronts.

Get a mango shake delivered?? Drink some indian daal?

Hope you recover well/soon from whatever surgery you had mate.

I have just purchased a 4.5kg pork belly from the butcher as I fancy doing Porchetta on Christmas day.

There will be two of us on Christmas day.

My wife asked what sides we'll be having with it.

Porchetta.

Two kinds of chickpea (cholay) curries. Green (mung bean daal), aloo parantha (trini flour but punjabi style filling) and a bit of corned beef curry .

Dont mind the table, bloody kids didnt wipe it down before dinner.

And yes, black label lol.

Love this time of year, tonight I'm having 8 Kronenburgs, a few mince pies,  a remaining half bag of pretzels, a pork pie and some Quality Street.

And that's perfectly acceptable.

I work with a couple of South African guys and they kept telling me about Bunny Chow.

It's basically a loaf of bread, hollowed out and filled with curry.

Tonight, I'm having Bunny Chow.

Making a mutton curry, with South African curry powder.

Will post a picture later. It smells absolutely incredible!

That looks fab!

It really works. The South Africans are moaning at me for using "fancy bread", it's just meant to be half a standard loaf!

Will definitely be having it again.

@Ric FlairI'm too lazy to trawl through the thread but I'm sure you've made a Sicilian pizza before, can you share the recipe please? I'm desperate to find a decent homemade pizza recipe and pepperoni sicilian style is my favourite

Good to see this thread revived.  I'm having leftovers tonight from a middle-eastern meal I made last night, predominantly Syrian but with a couple of rogue elements.

Kudos.

Best food I ever had was probably in southern Turkey and northern Syria just before the Syrian war.

I vote your place for a foxestalk get together.

Haha, thanks! I've been to Jerusalem and some other places in the middle-east but never did visit Syria.  Now I guess I never will.

Totally agree on the food, absolutely top notch grub.  As was the hospitality.

Yes lovely people. I often wonder what has happened to the people I stayed with. Hope to get back one day in the distant future...

I'd been quite happy with my rib eye and salad, until I opened this thread...

Always the worst  thread to read when you're hungry.

Not quite what I'm having for tea but not sure there is a more appropriate thread.  Happy sourdough Saturday everyone, always nice to have the house filled with fresh bread smells in the morning.

Gochujang honey sauce.  Milk bun, American cheese and Asian Slaw - all homemade.  Served with a side of more fried chicken 😅Best yet, Damn those Koreans have the Colonel on the run.  Compress_20240526_200401_1781.jpg.4d66fe0cc6817a2dccaeec8caf317ca9.jpgCompress_20240526_200401_1342.thumb.jpg.28deef548f14daceadfebbd166c3025a.jpgCompress_20240526_200401_1600.thumb.jpg.ebfb1a1f2d24e8be062e49f9eeda0419.jpg

I fermented a Scotch bonnet hot sauce recently so had a go at jerk chicken and rice and peas.

So delicious and despite loads of Scotch bonnets in the marinade the heat was very nice, nothing crazy.  Definitely going to trying some more West Indian bbq foodstuffs.  Very easy as well, perfect for a chilled Sunday with half a bottle of rum

The decorative chilli on the chopping board was purely for FT.Compress_20240609_182106_6252.thumb.jpg.9711915909c81aa44d474547c2b986dd.jpgCompress_20240609_182107_7145.thumb.jpg.01d909e7197ade5ce29c2285a4056e38.jpgCompress_20240609_182106_6673.thumb.jpg.942d5765b0089aceebaf35167974d7d7.jpgCompress_20240609_182105_5839.thumb.jpg.49edba2b9e630695be0b936e1002ad27.jpg
