I don't doubt Daka's current superior stats but what also has to be taken into account is the quality of the opposition he's played against. Iheanacho and Vardy certainly don't seem comfortable with the way in which they are expected to play by Enzo.

Craig Posted 28 December 2023 Posted 28 December 2023 Got the referee we had for Hull at home (3 minutes added on) tomorrow...
Ric Flair Posted 28 December 2023 Posted 28 December 2023 Am I going blind or is KDH not in the latest training video? Looks like Wanya is back training, so @ramadaone must mean Alves and Braybrooke are both still out for ages. Bugger.

CrazyKopCorner Posted 29 December 2023 Posted 29 December 2023 In view of the amount of games we've played, especially away from home and the disappointment of that last minute equalising goal on Boxing Day we really should get behind the lads today as they thoroughly deserve a rousing, vociferous away end. For a big guy dominant in the air he's not great in the oppositions penalty area. 1 goals in 64 Championship games.
Foxes96 Posted 29 December 2023 Posted 29 December 2023 I expect we’ll see quite a few changes for this one with the short turnaround times. Hermansen Souttar - Coady - Justin Hamza - Winks Yunus - Casadei - KDH - Mavididi Cannon 3 1

Lionator Posted 29 December 2023 Posted 29 December 2023 Remember Cardiff will just be as leggy as us.

I get the difference in class but the chances he missed last season were not difficult chances and his height and positions he takes up when attacking the box are generally good. 1

Of all the sides in the division I think I’d rather not play one who can pass 55 consecutive times before a goal while slap bang in the middle of a busy period. Early goal for us and it’s curtains.

Vardy was a top level PL striker record breaking league winning stiker, Nacho was a massive part of winning us the FA cup. But in the present season they have both been pretty average. Daka 4 goals and 2 assists in 366 a goal contribution every 61 minutes. Vardy 6 goals and 1 assist in 888 a goal contribution every 126 minutes. Nacho 5 goals and 1 assist in 858 a goal contribution every 143 minutes. Daka isn't as good a player as Iheanacho. I'll keep saying it until people stop thinking two goals against Rotherham somehow makes Daka, Pele. He has been called a 'competition winner', and 100s of comments of 'is he even a footballer' and all sorts of other stuff but then he puts two in on the line and a peno v a club thats rock bottom and all of a sudden he's first choice. Meanwhile a guy who's played in the team to get us a record start is dogshit and uninterested...... 1 shit game v Cardiff and everyone will say 'let Daka go in the window' i guarantee it. It's mental. Iheanacho won us an FA Cup pretty much, and a charity shield... Short memories. 1
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 December 2023 Posted 29 December 2023 Got a dodgy feeling about this one. Dunno why, Cardiff are crap and we aren’t. Just think it’s going to be a draw at best 🤷♂️
Iwanisawelshman Posted 29 December 2023 Posted 29 December 2023 Anyone know if this game is on the red button tonight?

It's mental. Iheanacho won us an FA Cup pretty much, and a charity shield... Short memories. Daka's ability to press and Iheanacho's inability to press is the difference in this system. We started to toil in November and I think teams had worked out how to play against us. We were spending far too long passing around at the back and inviting the opposition press and then when the opposition had the ball in the same areas, we couldn't apply the same pressure to overturn it. We have won the ball up high more times in the last 5-6 games than we had for a long while. Daka is the focal point of that, along with KDH and Ndidi. Finally we have a pack that can do it and hurt teams. Whether you want to pick fault with Daka scoring 2 tap ins, you could argue Iheanacho doesn't get in those positions for whatever reason often enough. I've also been impressed with Daka's hold up play. He's dropped deep and created two goals recently, this is a part of his game that was the utter pits as well. Right now he is the stand out choice. Iheanacho needs to earn the right to get back in and take his chance. It shouldn't be underestimated how difficult it is to take your chance when you get it either, pressure is on. Maybe that's what Iheanacho needs, he certainly seemed able to deal with that in periods of his Leicester career where he's come in from the wilderness and then gone on a scoring spree. But he needs to work on his pressing, he's done it occasionally but for whatever reason he doesn't apply it enough. 10
Pliskin Posted 29 December 2023 Posted 29 December 2023 It appears the game isn’t on sky. They’re only showing two championship games today. OPA it is!
