I thought Kristensen was worse and cost us at least 2 goals, wasn't really paying attention on Soumare

My thoughts have never changed on Soumare… he was shit when we signed him and he’s still shit now..

some people get turned on cos he is tidy at times in possession..

as always, last night he jogged around the pitch and didnt get close to a Brentford player..

He’s been poison ever since we signed him..

There was a period in the 2nd half where I was watching him for a few minutes. Ball was in and around our box. He was walking. 

 

No pressure on the ball or opposition. Losing his man. Literally just walking about watching the ball as it was passed around or up in the air.

It was Hermansen that created the argument. He absolutely ranted at Soumare who, back turned, ignored him for a while. Hermansen continued ranting and started moving towards him then Soumare turned around and gestured back to Hermansen then they would’ve squared up if it wasn’t for LCFC players around them. If u were going to apply your u21 rule then you’d have to send Mads with him!

He shouldn’t have been picked after ducking out of the easy header at Everton. That set the tone for the game.

I'd send Soumare to the exit and tell him to start looking for another club and to take the shirt off immediately.

I can't remember which goal it was last night (their 4th?) but he lost a 50/50 which I think he could have been stronger in. 

 

He's on that downward curve again. When we're playing poorly, or backs against the wall, he's not really anywhere to be seen.

The same could be said for Ndidi last night. Both players were awful.

As bad as our defenders are, and as woeful our forward options, I think our biggest weakness, going back to the early Rodgers years, is for a dominating box-to-box midfielder in the mould of Izzet. Most Prem teams have one.

 

Tielemans and Maddison were fine together when the team was dominating, largely on the back of Ndidi's ability to protect our defence, but when the going got tough they couldn't cope.  This happened eventually in our relegation year after Rodgers had neutered Ndidi by trying to get him to play a more box-to-box role.

 

Since then we've lacked that pivotal sort of player because Soumare didn't fulfil the expectation we had with his signing.  And the key thing that we miss is protection and relief for the defence. So I think this is the key signing we need to make.

Soumare is just one of several woeful players we have right now. And while Kristiansen seems a decent fella, he’s not cut out for this level. I’ve seen cargo ships turn quicker than him.

Soumare was absolutely dog yesterday, contributed to conceding at least two goals yesterday if I remember rightly?  Needs to be binned for now. As much as I hate to say it, maybe winks should start now that ndidi can provide some defensive cover.

He's the midfield version of Faes, has good attributes, can look good in patches.

 

But makes mistake and mistakes, and runs when he feels like it.

Not as though his ability on the ball is worth the defensive drawbacks either, he can carry it well and sometimes picks out decent passes but his 1 career goal and 5 assists say it all. He's about as threatening as Hermansen.

Last night he went hiding from the game like many others .... both him and Daka have not lived up to expectations or anywhere near .... both need to leave the club .... Daka or Edouard are not pushing Vardy for his shirt so no point in them

Well he’s conceded a shedload since he’s come back

That player was KDH, I think we should have took the points deduction and kept him we would probably be better off

For all his faults, mainly focused around being one footed, he always worked hard, pressed from the front and would be all the park ready to help out and actually tackle. Team player.

Soumare cant play alongside Ndidi he's like a little lost bemused boy.

We have too many players who seemingly don't care how they play, Soumaré, Faes, Okali, Winks, Skipp and to a lesser extent a few others. The spa of seagrave keeps them here. It's a spa holiday where you get paid to stay. I saw Winks, Coady and Vardy one morning at a hotel before an away game that afternoon. Vardy looked hungover (or maybe just cream crackered with no sleep), Winks had zero interest in interacting with us and Coady chirped up once we asked for a photo. There is something fundamentally wrong at our club, unless we figure out the root cause and do something about it, it's going to be rinse and repeat.

Never pick him in the first team squad again. One of the worst players to ever play for us.  As I’ve said before, best suited to the playground, his off the ball work is awful he doesn’t track runners or get goalside. Plus his on the ball work is ponderous and quite often plays other players a hospital pass!
