Yea .. hardest league in the world apparently 😂

Only issue I have with Top is, noone dares call him a plastic.. but when anyone drops their match attendance for the championship they get called it

Seriously though, money they've pumped In, do what he wants... he's supplied more than enough for us to go up, lads need to get it done on the pitch

I’ve not had a free bottle of water and chocolate cake since Christmas. Top out.

Will they leave this club better than they found it? It's unthinkable to even mull that over given what they've helped us achieve.

However, there's a possibility that failure to get promotion puts us under such immense financial pressure that we're in jeopardy of becoming just a run of the mill Championship side who's come down and having to battle.

I'd be curious to see how much of our fans would excuse an FFP breach if one were to be levelled against us. Hopefully it won't come to that if we don't go up but we must be sailing close to the wind given the noises in the media.

It's hard to level a lot of blame on them this season, the appointment of Maresca and the summer recruitment was positive overall and everything was going to plan. January was a huge concern once again and I've no patience for anyone trying to stick up for our board and owners for failing to recruit in the winter transfer window once again. In fact we actually got weaker. Our rivals strengthened and these players are winning their teams points currently, it's very stark.

Had we not been in the promotion places, would the club have still not recruited? Or would they have pushed us over the edge financially to do so? To have maxed out our position last summer is somewhat worrying but these are the decisions they are faced with. Only if we don't go up will we know if it was a mistake, but I can see why many think history is repeating itself down the stretch.

We have too many unwanted players on the books. This has stifled recruitment.  Very poor from the board

Christ himself could be running the show and I still wouldn't understand this attitude from some of our fans. No custodian of our club should ever have that right.

Someone has to want them though. If we're so desperate to get rid then what makes you think anyone wants to take them on.

Say kelechi for example. Hasn't done anything in 18months for us. We see him as slow, sloppy and somewhat lazy and we're just fans, can't see any scouts being impressed

If he's not good enough for us, noone competing with us or higher wants him  and even if we paid half his wages, noone lower down can afford the other half.

Souttar has barely kicked a ball in a year.. so he'd need probably 4 to 6 weeks to get up to speed elsewhere, so noones going to take that risk in January now and again if he's not good enough for us, and the contract he'd be on.. noone will want him either

You're right, but with the advent of FFP you need to be constantly brilliant at building the best value for money squad else you'll quickly sink. In the last few years we've failed miserably at this game, although apparently no one will ever responsible for our ability to collect expensive flops.

After we won the league the club had illusions of grandeur and thought we could compete financially with the Super League 6, wages rocketed and transfer fees were wasted in the chase for more glory. Sure it helped us then go on to win the FA Cup  and those top 5  finishes but is spite of reality striking in terms of not be able to compete wages have continued to remain too high and that is what is currently killing us.

A real cull of players was needed even to the point of letting some go for free hoping that buyers could cover their wages with no transfer fee that at least would have enabled us to recruit some more suitable freebies to strengthen the squad on lower wages.

There would be a large section of people who would back King Power even if they oversaw us relegated again and again.

Where are they gonna get their free beer once a season?

Makes you think.

People really need to stop making this link about free beer as if it's some kind of winning catch-all argument lol lol

If we were to get relegated again and again quite obviously the first thing fans will think about is free beer lol

Not sure Pearson has the cash to run the show himself

I honestly believe they have.

Training ground is state of the art and will have the power to attract players no matter what league we’re in.

We’ve seen some of the worlds best play for our club in recent times and with that we’ve made some great memories.

The squad last year shouldn’t have been relegated. I think if we’re all honest with ourselves, none of us thought it would. That’s not the fault of Top. I remember Pipes saying before the Brentford home game last season that Champions League could still be a small possibility.

And with that, many have said that this championship squad is one of the best ever.

But most of all, they’ve made Leicester a bigger club. Everyone knows us. There will be no-more young French players about to move to the East Midlands for £400,000 having no clue who he was signing for.

Vichai was a self made man. Self made people, for all their shortcomings are uncompromising. They can’t stand people in the simplest terms taking the piss. General statement but virtually true of all self made successful people. That was KP1.

Top is not self made. He is barely made. The problems we have start from the current ownership, KP2. KP2 will have a long term detrimental impact on us as a club for years to come.

How's KP itself doing? I know the pandemic has caused many problems globally but it would be interesting to hear if the whole corporation is struggling. Vichai's wife is a very astute business woman from what I gather.

I think she should get more involved in the football club.

I can't think of a club other than perhaps man city that would prefer their current owners over ours.

What has been achieved over the last 10 years is beyond the wildest dreams of most clubs in our position.

Be careful what you wish for.

Great post thank you. We are so lucky to not have some madmen in charge. Remind me how we were doing before KP took over?

Don't disagree with any of that except for what we're saddled with if we hit financial ruin. That training ground is not sustainable outside of the PL for a long period, it would essentially become a ghost town as we wouldn't be able to afford the required staff that make it a thriving hub.

Our owners have been exceptional but its during tough times we find out. As I say, it only takes a few more mistakes and we're in more trouble than we were when Madaric was here.

Top needs to run King Power and appoint someone to look after LCFC that is not Rudkin/Whelan.

This. Rudkin should have gone at so many separate points before now.

How is his job so protected?

Be honest we now have an absent owner as Top has been to maybe 5 home games and none away this season. Rudkin has been visibly absent a lot as well. King Power attention is elsewhere and we probably rank 6th or 7th in their business investments. Past bad decisions mean FFP punishments loom close and tie the hands of management. The academy is a flagship asset but it is not delivering a lot of high quality assets to grow, sell and replenish. We get no parachute payments if we get promoted this season which will make us limited in the Premier League so unlikely to be able to invest heavily beyond what we have now. Fiscal reality is that two more seasons in the Championship, deadwood clearance and sensible rebuild is best path forward. If you want rid of King Power you need someone better and there is no one that I see on the horizon.

What other business investments do they have that would be in positions 2 to 6?

New hotel and commercial complex are two and three, global property portfolio is number 4 king power polo five, king power racing six, the list goes on. We probably now only rank ahead of OH Leuven

Personally think Top will bring in additional investors or look to sell up once we're in the prem. It isn't sustainable the way it's going

Disagree with the first part here. We need to go up this season, even if it's just to pocket the Prem TV money for one year and go straight back down. The longer we stay in the Championship the harder it will be to recover.
