My clearest memory of him is pronouncing N'Zogbia's name as insomnia..

Was he really Roy Kinnear's younger brother?

 

Years ago, someone told me that he was.

Seem to remember when at Newcastle he watched a young player in a lower league and said to one of his assistants we should sign him. He didn’t realise the player was on loan from Newcastle.

I can remember Kinnear’s Wimbledon were all kinds of trouble to play during the mid to late 90’s, nobody really knew how to deal with them as they still had the old school crazy gang tag yet started to play some really good stuff at times and bloodied many a top 4 nose and a lot of that was down to big Joe.

Was Wimbledon manager when we squeezed past them the League Cup Semi Final in 1997. Remember he was a good full back for Spurs

Think we can all agree his finest hour was helping Forest towards the Championship trapdoor in the mid 00s. Has my respect just for that!

His Wimbledon team were good, several too half finishes and cup runs. Had the aggressive side but not outright thuggery and some decent players.

I remember thinking we should have gone  for Kinnear around the time when we lost O 'Neill and Taylor did so badly for us.  I think Kinnear would have suited our squad.
