How much luck did we get on Saturday?

A lot of luck but with the disallowed goal we had against them to make it 2-0 in which we would have finished as winners & their offside (clearly) goal tonight plus whatever other decisions they've had go their way this season they should be in the playoffs 😡

I didnt watch the whole game...but from the highlights....what a fantastic, frenetic pace that game was played at.

Same here (it kicked off at 4 AM), but what a glorious shitshow. Farke said he "would have preferred a measured composure" and I'm sure that's an understatement. lol

Except they beat us twice. Go on Boro you got HMS Piss the League behind you!

In games where we did everything but score. Millwall and Pymouth beat us too. Leeds are nothing special.

In other news, Archie Gray continues to light up the lives of the Sky Sports presenters with every two yard pass "Oh so mature for his age, this boy's going right to the top" :P

Leeds were poor. Second half they pretty much played low block. If Borough were remotely disciplined defensively, they would have won that.

Interesting to see the difference in scrutiny/shit we've got for strength in depth this season vs Leeds . Leeds have kept hold of everyone but Rodrygo and Tyler Adams and spent +£5m.

Leicester have spent minus £60m and lost players who are starting at Spurs, Newcastle, Fulham, Sevilla, Man Utd, Atletico, Villa, Bologna.

Saints have spent minus £150m with basically a fire sale of talent but managed to build a consistent team out of old, young and new.

There has to be a financial day of reckoning coming for Leeds

Leeds players departing this summer:

Robin Koch - Frankfurt

Diego Llorente - Roma

Max Wober - Monchengladbach

Rasmus Kristensen - Roma

Tyler Adams - Bournemouth

Marc Roca - Real Betis

Luis Sinisterra - Bournemouth

Jack Harrison - Everton

Brenden Aaronson - Union Berlin

Rodrigo - Qatar

Joel Robles - Saudi

Adam Forshaw - Norwich

Tyler Roberts - Birmingham

Helder Costa - free agent

plus 60% wage reduction clauses in all the contracts of the retained squad.

Yeah, but didn't quite a few of those leave on loan and therefore will be back on your wage bill for next season on PL wages?

This list isn't entirely accurate. They've already sold Sinisterra, Adams, Roberts and Rodrigo. Forshaw and Robles joined on frees already to their new clubs. You've also got to consider at present, none of their loans are confirmed to be made permanent so they're losing them end of season as it stands.

Still scored 3. You went to bits once we scored but all you do is blame everyone else. How many times did your defenders give us the ball in the last 15 minutes?

Sold Adams and Sinisterra this season for around £40m, wont show up in most recent accounts. Hopefully will get around 20m for Harrison; Koch will leave for free; 10m for Roca (Betis); 10m for Wober (Gladbach) 5m for LLorente (Roma); Sell Arronsen for 10m; 4m for Kristensen (if anyone will have him).

If we have to sell we do have Summerville; Rutter; Archie Gray; Gnonto. Our problem was we didn't know who was staying or who was leaving so it made purchasing new players difficult as all pre-existing players had relegation- linked loan clauses (except Gnonto) to say they could leave if the wages were matched. This is why we had such a slow start compared to Soton, for example, who were able to trade their players and re-invest. They put the clauses in to comply with whatever rules linked to financial fair play. Our wage bill is 2/3 your wage bill so you could argue your squad should be a lot leaner than it should be. If you go up you will be hit with a transfer embargo and your style of play is too slow for the Premier League.

The loan clauses Leeds had in contracts allowed the players to leave provided the loaning club covered 100% of their wages, so only their amortisation cost is on the books for this year, reducing net expenditure.

The players that left permanently all generated a book profit; and those that return can either play again next year or be sold from a position of strength as a PL team if Leeds go up.

As a result, Leeds don’t have the albatross round their neck of players on PL wages they can’t shift or significant historic losses they need to balance out with profits to comply with FFP.

Added to which they have players with significant profit-potential in Summerville and Gnonto (signed for a combined 5m) should they need to generate headroom in the event of staying down.

Some of those fees you are quoting will result in you being worse off for PSR than if you continue to loan them out. This is the difficulty in moving on unwanted players.

I get how you have managed things well in this FY, but if you get promoted, won't all the loan players return, bloating your squad with players who failed in the PL last time and who you don't really want, whilst adding significantly to your wage bill (as they will presumably be on PL wages)? Or am I missing something.

Plus, some of the fees he is expecting to get look very optimistic to me.

Most of them have options to buy pre-negotiated with the loaning clubs. Some may come back but they're mostly young enough to improve, and they spent last year playing under a series of morons. Going up this year will mean a decent bit of FFP headroom for a squad rebuild.

Are you happy with your squad if you get promotion?

Also, do you think there's too much hype about your club?

No, it needs work.

And no, the underlying numbers suggest Leeds and Leicester are comfortably the two best teams in the league.
