Disappointing to be 1-0 down at half time

Our under 21s have been the better side I think, just need some more composure in and around the box

Front 4 are looking decent

Not sure how you get King into that as well though, maybe drop Golding back into centre mid

Cartwright. I was thinking the same.

Cheers - I haven’t got the commentary on!

A few of our players look promising, but he has stood out a mile to me. Haven’t heard too much about him previously either.

Number 49 for us looks a very good player.

I’ve had the game on in the background but Cartwright has looked unbelievable this half. Not sure on the strength of the Notts County side but very impressive

Strange, never really rated him. He's just one of those players that keeps things ticking, doesn't really do anything. Monga, Alves and Evans all been good and Joseph very impressive too.

I’ve never really noticed him before but tonight he’s been very very good. Who knows!

Well Monga goes without saying to be honest. He is quite clearly a massive talent.

He looks ready for senior football already to me.

A shame about the result but overall I do still think that was a decent performance with quite a few pretty good individual performances from the likes of Monga, Golding, Alves, Evans, and Cartwright

I thought that there was a lot to be positive about

Watched the last half hour, we spent it on the front foot, played with urgency, technically strong and happy to take risks in the opposition half, thought we could have scored a few on another evening. Reckon the 100 away fans would have enjoyed that more than travelling to watch the so called first team.

Plenty of positives and you can see the evolution of our academy over the last 3-4 years. Monga and Evans at 15 and 16 respectively getting 90 minutes is excellent to see. Both look at this stage like they have every chance of making it to a very high level. We have to harness that.

Our 3 jewels of our academy up to this season have all either had major long term injuries or may well have one now (Nelson 👀). Fingers crossed this next wave coming through don't get their development disrupted.

Was impressed with Golding's ability to take players on tonight. Cartwright looked strong too and Ewing when he got on the ball was positive. Alves was mediocre 1st half but much much better in the 2nd but I much prefer him playing wide left where he has the licence to get more space and 1 v 1 with the defence.

it’s funny how when they introduced under 21s playing in this competition, fans were terrified that the b teams would always win. I bet against the youth teams because they always tend to get thumped.

It’s a reality check really, because even standing out in under 21 football is lower than playing against a league 2s reserve team. All it shows is that loans are needed because the level is clearly miles below football league

A minor point to note, but interesting to see it.

In both the recent BSMT games. Monga began on the right and was moved to the left. IMO he’s looked better on the left on both occasions.

Less time out last time but to see him for the full 90 with basically 45 mins on each wing… I’d say he’s much stronger on the left.
