It might have been one that is checked but done so so quickly that it doesn't need any coverage or attention because it's not worth stopping the game for...

This team is brilliant, they play like a top-end Premier League team.

 

At the last World Cup under Enrique, all they did was pass it. Their chance creation was poor and though they controlled games, if anything the few chances they gave away were always more clear cut for the opposition. This team has everything, power, pace, control, guile, direct play if needed, etc. They are so well coached.

 

What is even more incredible is they don't have too many world stars. Rodri is the one that is truly World Class, but the young guns are good but not the finished article yet. Moratta solid at international level, but never considered an elite marksman.

 

The best team in the tournament by far. I hope their manager gives the FA ideas on what they need. England need to play system football! It could well be Potter and compared to Southgate, he is much better in terms of setup and tactics.

Is it the position of the ball or the feet of the keeper that counts? I'm more inclined to think it's the ball, cos I think it almost certainly didn't, but if it's feet then my thinking was the other way.

 

Not that it matters particularly. At least there's been one decent match today.

Spain have been impressive but have to remember they are playing probably the lowest ranked team left and defensively they have been poor, especially second half.

First world cup I remember was Spain 82 I was 11.
