Cant find the article but would be very very good if true.

Used to be my first signing every season on FM. His mental stats for a teenager were insane. 

 

Was like the best defensive midfielder on the game three or four years in a row. 

 

Fair to say I don't think he's quite reached the heights Sports Interactive thought he would lol

A combative and hard-working player, he usually played in front of his team's back-line, where he mainly served as a defensive foil for his more offensive teammates, due to his aggressive tackling, as well as his ability to read the game, break down plays, mark and anticipate opponents, and time his challenges. In this role, he connects the team by serving as a link player as the ball is circulated. He is known in for his positional sense, tactical discipline, intelligence, energy, and ball-winning ability. On top of his defensive prowess, Florentino is a composed passer with an excellent understanding of how to link attack and defence. He is highly accurate with his passing, upon receiving the ball, he is exceptional at analysing which pass is the best option based on the position of his teammates, the position and body shape of the defence and the spaces available. He uses various techniques to study his opponents moves before deciding to challenge for the ball. He tries to read his opponent's body posture, the pressure he is under and what passing lanes he has so as to cut them off – before eventually dispossessing them. His playing style has led him to be compared to Claude Makélélé and N'Golo Kanté.

Yeah, you'd think so - maybe it'd be an obligation if we stayed up, something like that. Would be happy if this were to come off though!

Everton were after him in January towards the end of the window on loan - Benfica weren't interested that late into the window

 

Reported earlier in June by the same place that have reported our interest in him that Benfica want €30m for him

 

Would be a brilliant signing to replace Wilf

Loan would be the only way we'd get him if that is the price for him. Probably just a rumour on this one.

Florentino collected a new interest in England. Leicester wants Benfica's midfielder and is already preparing a proposal, which should soon arrive at Luz, Record knows. However, the elements of the club promoted this season to the Premier League know that they will not have facilities to remove the defensive midfielder from the Luz team.

As we have already reported, those responsible for the SAD of the eagles know that they can benefit from the fact that there is more than one English club interested in the player and are waiting for the best proposal. Therefore, as we reported, Benfica has even recently rejected a first offer of 30 million euros from England, according to the information we collected.

It is in this context that Leicester will have to fight for the Portuguese U-21 international. The foxes seek to assemble a competitive squad to survive in the Premier League, and Florentino can become a competitor of Harry Winks in the rank of the most defensive midfielder or even complement the Englishman, in the system of 3 centres that the new coach Steve Cooper should implement. Leicester, moreover, may also lose midfielder Dewsbury-Hall, for whom Chelsea has already made a proposal around €40 million.

Who also promises to go to the charge for the eagles' jersey 61 is Everton. This is an older interest. The toffees had already expressed their intention to count on Florentino in January, but they could not convince Benfica. This summer, the Liverpool emblem will continue to seek to strengthen the midfield and should also present a proposal to the eagles in the coming weeks.

Anyway, Florentino won't force the exit. Midfield lives with vagueness

Benfica has already guaranteed Leandro Barreiro at zero cost, which can prevent some exit from the midfield, this being a sector that brings together some unknowns. In addition to Florentino, João Neves is coveted, with Manchester United revealing itself as the main interested. The eagles have Kökçü, Aursnes and João Mário, but everyone can play in more advanced areas. The Turkish has already expressed the desire to act with more freedom and the Norwegian has rarely been a middle-centre in the reds.
