I appreciate that. But these fans were also claiming he was not good enough for us last season were they not? He is currently a fans favourite and multiple MOTM winner for a side who but for their 2 point deduction, would be top of the league and who look defensively more secure and harder to beat than we did last season.

And defensively, he is good enough imo anyway. He is just too big and not glamorous enough for many of our fans who think defender only need to be able to pass the ball and nothing else!

He wouldn’t have been good enough for us last season in an Enzo team. Different styles obviously need different types of player.

manager doesn’t rate him, they get battered every week and he doesn’t sub him on 🤷‍♂️

The manager absolutely waxed lyrical about him at the start of the spell. Probably too frightened to put him in because of his size

Cannon is better off playing regular games, than coming on for a few minutes. If he’s does well as Stoke, we might get a decent fees for him and use the money elsewhere, if the worse happens and we get relegated, we might have a player we can use at that level

I meant he is more than good enough at the level. Which is true, actually, as a defender, he is too good for the Championship. I wasn’t speaking relative to us playing such a specific, rigid system. People confuse not good enough for that level with not being perceived to fit a specific system we were playing.

You have actually proven what I said, that Maresca and his disciples in our fan base just wanted players who could pass a ball not defend. This is proven by how easy to beat we were last season. We conceded a shocking amount of goals, no team winning the league should be losing 11 games and we could and should have lost more if it wasn’t for shocking finishing from teams who were scared of us early in the season. Once teams figured us out, we were a different side in a bad way and yeah, defensively was the reason.

Souttar is actually pretty good on the ball anyway. Sheffield United are hardly just hoofing it constantly. He was also getting across the pitch pretty swiftly to cover the right full back Seriki yesterday so he isn’t slow. The times last season our right back space was just free for the opposition to run unchallenged into…

I get Vestergaard was good last season. But I maintain, we could have used an asset in Souttar who we shelled out on, has years on his contract and let Vestergaard go in the summer whilst getting promoted. Now we have that asset away from the club, a renewed contract for Vestergaard who has been out the side most of the season so far. Where the financial since in all that?

Anyway, rant over! Hopefully Sheffield United get promoted and make Souttar permanent. He has a manager there who appreciates him and fans who love him. He deserves to stay there if possible rather than come back here.

Nelson confirms on his insta he’s picked up a serious injury and had surgery.

Jesus - so that Braybrooke, Alves and Nelson to have picked up big injuries in their developmental years.

I still wonder back to how well Wesolowski would have done in the game if Balde hadn't been a massive twat and broke his leg.

same man! I went to a preseason game against kettering and it was just development players but I remember thinking the sky would be the limit for him.

Such a shame.

that’s a little odd. if he’s fit enough to train with the 1st team you’d expect him to have gone back?

they might not be training this week due to the international break

I'm pretty sure Everton have almost a 50% sell on clause one him if we sell

Highly doubt its 50%. Never seen that anywhere. No incentive for a buying club (leicester in this case) to ever sell.

Quite disappointed with Richard's loan, for someone so highly rated he's not doing much of note, thought Popov would have more of an impact too

He’s scored and then seemingly been out injured ever since. From what I read at the start of the season Exeter fans liked him
