That's the one, he's had a couple of spells at Vale, on loan from us and then joined them permanently.

 

Sustained a serious neck injury at the start of the season, somehow fractured his neck and need surgery.

 

He well thought of at Vale.

My step dad is a season ticket holder at Wigan. Says he's OK but league 1 is his level, doesn't look good enough for premier league level.

Alves will now further his growth with the Sky Bet Championship side who are currently 19th in the table and next in action in the Emirates FA Cup away to Stoke City on Saturday 8 February (3pm kick-off).

It's been confirmed that Silko Thomas is back with Leicester & out for the season with expected recovery time of up to 5 mths, so assume ACL also.
Real shame for the lad as he'd racked up 31 appearances playing a good chunk in each game this season for Wigan.
