I’d rather give our own academy players the opportunity to play in the Premier League, rather than improving Liverpool’s for them to benefit in the long run. We either buy him outright or he can go elsewhere and they can be Liverpool’s development team.

I don’t want to be signing 18 year old academy players from clubs in the same division on loan. Either he comes on loan with an obligation to buy (like Fatawu did) or someone else can be Liverpool’s development side. So they nick our best academy prospect and then expect a club like ours to develop their academy prospects.

 

I'm a strong believer in banning PL to PL loans it just encourages the sick 6 to stockpile players. It should be used to help lower league clubs to develop their best prospects so they can best use them or sell them for a bigger fee.

Hopefully we’ve learnt our lesson after the Casadei debacle last season.

Ah, so you just want Fatawu to play every single minute of football next season? 

 

Like you said, we just spent £14m on a player who will likely get the Lions share of minutes in that position. Convincing a young up and coming loan player is to play second fiddle to that player is easier than convincing one of these permanent, committed players to do it. 

 

If getting a young player on loan to sit on the bench means we can spend more on improving the starting 11 permanently somewhere else on the pitch then we should be going for it.

And that’s why it won’t happen unless they miraculously stump up the £6M they owe us for Trey

Rudkin won’t deal with Liverpool until that is sorted in our favour

You think Liverpool will loan him out to sit on the bench? That defeats the purpose of sending him out on loan, he may as well just stay with his parent club and train everyday with a better standard of player if he’s gonna have minimal pitch time. 
 

Without sounding all Billy big bollocks, we need to remember who we are. We’re Leicester ****ing City, we’ve won more trophies in the past 10 years than the likes of Tottenham. This club is big time, we’re the football equivalent of the pretty girl who’s been convinced she’s ugly by her abusive ex boyfriend at this point.

15/20 minutes every game or two with the odd start thrown in is FAR more than he'll get at Liverpool. 

 

I disagree with that analogy. I'd say we are more like the decent looking geeky girl who once gave a popular boy a handy and got "cool" for a couple of months before returning back to her mates who spend their days sitting down at the skate park.

Because he'll still learn more being a bit part player for us in the PL than a spare part for them and arguably more than being a main part for a championship team.
