Starmer and Co have been busy building bridges in the past month or so I think.

No.... too busy believing the Harris hype calling half the population garbage.

Still at least the Left on here are gracious in defeat.

Do you not understand that the EU and Europe are not the same thing?  Farage is very much a European, his wife is German and he spent years living in Brussels.

And he's got a EU passport. 🙄😂 I think you mean grifting in Brussels. And he's not with his German wife anymore apparently. However, to be fair, he has shacked up with a French fascist seemingly, so he can't be all that bad can he? 😂

I am only making one observation. The Harris campaign consistently wheeling out celebrities was not a good move (or SNL) and completely played into Trump’s rhetoric.

An absolute shocker of a campaign ran by the Dems

This.

And then having people just call them idiots, thickos, stupid etc. Will end up on them doubling down and voting for Trump again, and as if by magic!

Its important I think to realise that a lot of people couldn't care less about Trump being a ****, they like his bullish approach etc and his policies on those topics as well.  Much like no one cared about Boris being a shagger.

Exactly, people want lower taxes and someone who has the back of working people. Not someone who panders to immigrants or calls them ‘thickos’

Decent people don't need to be gracious about a fascist grifter, convicted of 34 felonies and sexual assault.

Most Americans feel worse off now than they did under Trump, and that is pretty damning on the Democrats.

They're worse off this morning in practically every aspect compared to last night.

Ok but Starmer literally hasn't been doing that. He had dinner with Trump at his home only weeks ago.

But what are the consequences. In metrics and targets alongside the globally approved baseline of measurement. How will this affect progress to 2030. How will the next NDC submission change. What will be the change in the national climate impact assessment. Which new climate risks and opportunities will become apparent in the trump term and what is their basis of likelihood.

Apologies to keep pushing this but you’re a cool guy and have a very strong position for Harris based mainly on climate. I can’t believe this position has come from empty rhetoric alone. Given the frequency of which you post on climate on this forum alone it’s a fair assumption on my part that you’re not a layman and know your onions.

Yes, this topic means a lot to me, but if you're looking for a Masters level dissertation, then I apologise for lacking the time or the inclination to provide it.

However...

There will be a switch from renewable energy infrastructure building to increased extraction and burning of fossil fuels again. These will in turn contribute to increased carbon emissions and all that entails, which will represent the same risk the IPCC has been saying for years.

If you want to think Trump won't affect the climate any more negatively than Harris, then fair enough - I disagree and given your own expertise on the topic, I'd like to know your own reasoning, rather than persisting in asking for mine.

Yes I am aware, it was very tongue in cheek.

Just trying to keep things light hearted as I think some are forgetting that the world didn’t end last time he was in charge

And I'm sure all those women affected by the repeal of Roe v Wade, and those LGBT people affected by workplace and healthcare legislation that treats them as second class, among others, think similarly.

While sending 100 Labour activists to campaign for KM.

He smashed climate change agreements leading us closer to planetary catastrophe, destroyed women's rights by appointing ultra conservative judges, failed to react to Covid, allowed Putin to become enboldened and actually left the US economy in a worse position than he inherited without doing anything to help people in the rust belt that he promised. But he did make himself richer.

Hey, don't worry about me, I'm a white guy in a nation currently not affected much by climate change (though talk to some farmers about that). I'm not the one in the firing line

You're in Moscow?

I'd have more respect for Lammy if he actually stuck to his guns.

Then what? Trump is vengeful and powerful. We're alone and weak.

We're everyone's bitch now since we left the EU.

Russia, farage, India, Israel all rubbing their hands now.
