He probably doesn’t have Rwandan citizenship because his father was wanted for genocide there… Funny how we expect first generation immigrants to integrate, yet don't consider their offspring to be citizens here in the UK. We really are a nation of hypocrites 3

This is what worries me, alot of far right, even centre right are using language such as '2nd generation X'. The X and whatever generation has no relevance, the kid no matter how bad, he was born here, is a British citizen, maybe considers himself Welsh, yet the far right want to call him a foreigner. The narrative is very disturbing 6 6

Guest Bilo Posted 23 January 2025 Posted 23 January 2025 The first thing you need to remember is that the far-right get off on this shit. They salivate with joy at the thought of grooming gangs because 'Muslims bad.' They punch the air with glee when they bring up Lee Rigby against his family's wishes for the same reason. They thought it was their birthday when they thought Rudakubana was an asylum seeker from a small boat, delighted in the thought that he was an Islamic convert and are now drooling over the horrific injuries those poor girls endured and demanding they be described in pornographic detail, stab wound by stab wound. If the decent thing is done and they are ignored, as they know full well will be the case? Cover-up! Labour whitewash! Immigrants bad! Let's not pretend the far-right care about the victims of grooming gangs, Lee Rigby or these three innocent little girls. They don't. They care about what these tragedies can do for their agenda. They want more of them.
RowlattsFox Posted 23 January 2025 Posted 23 January 2025 Has there been any indication why he targeted that particular location? Can't understand how even lunatics like him can target something like that. Could've attacked anything that day. It's inevitable he'll either do himself in or someone will get to him but that feels to easy. Deserves a long and torturous death with an immense amount suffering.

How many generations do you have to be to be British? It’s a tricky question to answer, you’re civically British and from my understanding you’ve integrated and adopted the culture to be accepted. But in this case specifically , I wouldn’t consider this man British, the only thing that makes him that is his passport. 2

I'm not sure that "British" (clearly still a topic up for debate, that) people have some higher function that stops them engaging in evil mindless violence. And to forestall an obvious response, the inference here is likewise obvious. 2 1

If you're looking for truly neutral reportage, Reuters and Associated Press. It's rather dry, but they give just the facts, no spin. 1

It depends how you look at it, if you feel like your whole national identity is purely where you’re born id disagree with that personally. And even for say a second generation immigrant who’s perfectly a law abiding citizen as well, that part of their bloodline and where they’ve been will still be strong to their identity and mostly like family culture as well than where they were born. Having been in Aus for a few year now, I have noticed a lot of people would consider where their family originate from first over being Australian as their civic identity tbh though i don’t think it is worth bringing up in this case anyway unless you’re looking to stoke pure racial tension. There’s a potential question around if the family should’ve been brought over and I’ve see a few conflicting reports on that, but I put in the same bracket as people calling him the Amazon killer. isn’t the issue at hand that we’re dealing with Edited 23 January 2025 by The Horse's Mouth

But that's thorny ground. Totally agree with the second paragraph.

Guest Bilo Posted 23 January 2025 Posted 23 January 2025 The far-right are gutted because the real issues here don't suit them. It wasn't Islamism, he wasn't an illegal immigrant and he wasn't motivated by sexual exploitation. The issues at play were failures in Prevent, precisely because he doesn't have an ideology on which far too much emphasis was placed, failures in CAMHS, failures in safeguarding and policing.
