If you're going through a rough patch, cant score goals, we're the ideal remedy. Forest will use us like a punch bag, exactly like every team has for the past 3 months

Posted

as much as I loathe them and their privileged fans you have to give it to them this season, they have been good but they are having a blip

Their fans think they will beat palace and be back in the top 4 by the end of Monday. Christ a few months ago at my sons football training some of the dads were already planning on where they want to go in europe for away games!

As much as it pains me to say I think they will finish 5th and get champions league....Ive had nothing but pelters from them since we got relegated so part me is hoping they wont so I can give them some back, but its looking very likely unfortunately.....

But I dont think they will do as good next season. mid table at most, then back into the bottom half of the table the season after....

They are probably going to batter us as well but would love a result even if its a point....

Forest have been overperforming their xG all season but I didn't;t realise how bad their meltdown has been, I just thought it was a regression

Long may it continue! If they drop out of Europe all together, they’re in a dodgy place with PSR surely?

With the amount of positions England gets this year, they're almost guaranteed Europa League aren't they?

Don't see them getting Champs League on current form though.

Sadly we'll no doubt do them a favour mind lol

Europa Conference to Champions League is pennies to the pound.

Their 23/24 wage bill was £250.2m which is absurd and completely unsustainable.

They’d have to lose every game (unlikely when Ruud boy is handing out points) and Fulham/Brighton go unbeaten

we bottled top 4 twice in a row

They’ve been in the top 3 most of the season though. It’s great to see them shit their pants at this crucial stage of the season.

Did think the only 2 teams they would beat was us and spurs in their run in as they haven’t looked good for a while and we are the only 2 teams that look will hand anyone an easy 3 points this season. Don’t see them beating palace and I think Man City win tonight, Villa will win tomorrow to put some more pressure on them and I think Chelsea will beat Liverpool now the title is all wrapped up.

Is that right? Ours peaked at £180m and our revenues have been way higher. They must have added about £100m onto it in 3 seasons

Forest are essentially Wolves under Nuno. Low block, use pace of the wingers with a powerful striker. It’s played out exactly like it did with Wolves - the tactics take some higher scalps but everyone else gets wise over time and the performance averages out to 6th or 7th.

It’s laughable how these pundits and experts can't spot such a simple pattern

I said when they signed about a million players in a season and a half I didn't understand how it was sustainable.

Absolute maniac running the club like an absolute maniac shocker.

I think that £250m includes things like bonuses but yeah. Mad innit?

Europa Conference will completely mess them up, so i hope its what they will get. There are additional demands on squad depth and an increased number of games, but the money is nowhere near the same so you are arent attracting that 'next tier' of player. You have existing players who for a while thought there were going to be playing CL next year, and to retain them you may need to negotiate wages or the big clubs might coming sniffing. It's a bit of a poisoned chalice, and if you struggle for form its a killer.

I don't think the Conference will affect them on squad depth or increased games. It's 6 compared to the 8 of CL or Europa. Chelsea played teams from Belgium, Greece, Armenia, Germany, Kazahnstan and Ireland - loads of room to rotate players with that level of opposition.

I do think it will hurt them on their existing squad though. I think it immediately would cause an issue with Murillo.

They'll be the next us if they miss out on UCL. Possibly worse given that it's been very much 'lightning in a jar' and a lot has aligned for them this season that probably won't next time.

Thursday night games are horrible. Chelsea have the biggest squad in the world. Forest are still dependable on the form of some key players who they might actually lose.

Personally, I think Forest's second string would see off the likes of Noah FC & Shamrock Rovers comfortably. And they can easily sign players capable to add squad depth to that quality of opposition.

In that fashion, the Europa League would be a larger more difficult demand on Forest. 8 games in Europe, more difficult opposition.

Thursday nights are indeed horrible. UEL means a minimum of eight games get moved to a Sunday or Monday, meaning that everyone around them plays first and has the opportunity to open up a gap over them.

Chelsea, as you rightly say, can just play a second XI against Irish and Kazakh sides to give their main squad a rest for a day or two. Forest's players will be wearily stepping off a plane after a six hour flight from Azerbaijan before going up to Newcastle, and all after having played Liverpool two days before flying out.

Unless your squad is huge and talented, the UEL is an absolute nightmare.

Worth noting that other than probably Murillo (who is a genuine Man City/Liverpool/Chelsea/Arsenal level defender), I really don't know who they've got that the elite would dump 70-80m+ on.

Look through their starting 11 from last night for instance. Other than Murillo.

Sels - 33 years old. Not worth anything.

Aina - Out of contract in a couple of months. Not worth anything.

Milenkovic - I could see a side like Villa or Newcastle wanting him for £30-40m but Forest will dig their heels in for more and he'll just stay. Ala Ndidi, Tielemans, Maddison etc.

Williams - He's shite and has 1 year remaining. Worth nowt.

Yates - He's crap. Only good for wrapping 6 studs on his opponent's knee. Worth nowt.

Anderson - I do think he will be the one they might sell for decent dough in a couple of years time but he's cost them £40m so he's not really turning them much of a profit.

Elanga - Having a good season but I think everyone (probably rightly) thinks it's a bit of a purple patch. Even in this great season he's having he's still only scored 6 goals. Nobody is paying silly money for him.

Gibbs-White - I could see someone going daft for him but who is it going to be? Chelsea have Palmer, United have Fernandes, Man City have Foden, Arsenal have Odegaard etc. There's no demand for a number 10 that will cost £50m plus and that's not even mentioning they spent £40m on him as well.

Hudson-Odoi - I like him but he's not Champions League material. Nobody is paying daft money for him.

Wood - He's 33. I could see someone like Chelsea or Man United seeing him as a 4th striker option for £10m but that's stretching it IMO.

I can just see themselves trying to line up future sales like we did to keep everything afloat and then one summer nobody will come for their players and shit will hit the fan.

I’m sure Rudkin is keeping track of that list for when we get back up.
