Who watched us play last season and came to the conclusion that dropping Vestergaard, Winks, Ricardo and Fatawu was the answer!!!?!

Ladies and Gentleman, I give you Steve Cooper :protest:

It’s insane that you’ve had to even type that,  on top of that we have Coopers set up and in game management.

I’m guessing the tactics will be the same.  JJ tucking in leaving so much space for the winger to get the ball unmarked. JJ will the then back off rather than press allowing him to pass the ball in the box between Ndidi & Skipp camped on the edge of the box and the CBs standing around watching the ball.

If Okoli is booting the ball out of defence to the opposition instead of Faes starting attacks calmly then they are in a for along afternoon.

Ndidi and Ayew will be battered by 60 mins but won’t get subbed.  Mav and Fac will for Reid and Fatawu on 82 mins.  That’s after Bournemouth have used all 5 on 60 mins to inject energy.

No one hates him, in fact all the fans resepect him. But the issue we have is that he should not be starting ahead of Fatawu.

I think he's actually been a good pickup for the club as a squad option, and been the player I thought Bobby Reid would be. But look at that awful first touch he took when in the 90th minute against Arsenal. Posing an attacking threat ain't his game.

for reference I do hate Ayew, because he represents an abandonment of any sensible transfer policy, his sole skillset is doing what a 90 year old granny could manage (falling over) and he's blocking both squad involvement and pitch time from bright young players

Steve Cooper really is a human points deduction. If he hasn't sacked by Christmas, there'll be a mass exodus of players like Ricardo and Vestegaard in January and I am terrified of what he'll bring in to replace them.

A human points deduction tickled me. But hard to disagree.

said it before, I'll say it again, you know full well it'll be Serge Aurier rocking up on January 1st

Cooper has lost it for me.

Ndidi back to the DCM role??? Good luck with us getting any up the pitch other than hoofing it up or predictably going to through the sides.

Ayew instead of Bilal or Fatawu???

No Ricardo again.

Ayew has been alright, and Abdul’s decision making has been all over the place, so I’m not surprised… though I’d probably still prefer Fatawu in a game we need to win. Hopefully he gets half an hour against tired legs.

He’ll get 5 minutes at most and will be brought on for Mav whilst Ayew ambles about for 90 minutes.

I get what you are saying, but to suggest Fatawu is not extremely wasteful is very disingenuous. He causes a problem due to his directness, but picking out one bad touch for Ayew and using it as justification for starting Ayew is a bit double standard imho.

Start Facundo instead of either and have Biilal in the middle.

All 4 + Mavididi all in with a shout if being POTS last year he's had a bash at dropping all.

How long is Cooper going to stick with this lob sided system? Marks Mavididi out of the game, putting the entire creative onus on a young number 10 and our extra attacking player is a fullback playing in a back 4 who is expected to be able to cover defensively and be an attacking wingback. Justin isn’t going to score worldies week in week out. Most of the time he’s going to be stuck running his arse off between two roles. He shouldn’t be one of our main attacking hopes, nor should Kristiansen when it was his turn at the start of the season..

Add into this - if you are asking one of your fullbacks to do this, you can’t expect them to do it for 90 minutes; instead what you do is essentially have a pre-planned change at around the 60-70 minute mark to freshen and ensure the same intensity can be applied to that role (which, with 5 subs you can now afford to do).

I think the point is Fatawu will learn with game time and develop his skill set and judgement.  Ayew peaked ability and returns wise at Crystal Palace while on loan years ago go.

With Fatawu we have a chance that something could happen, with Ayew the best people can say about him is he wins a free kick.

Would have preferred Fatawu rather than Ayew but it's alright other than that I think.

Don't worry will be subbed on in 92nd with 4 mins total ET when we are down 2-1

JJ that scored 2 goals last weekend?....you want him dropped?

Has had a hand in around 80% of the goals we have conceded in the league, and been been poor to average in most of the games.

A worldie and a defections shouldn't gloss over he's been below standard for the majority of the games.

Yes, many goals this season have been his fault.  His marking on Martinelli was non existent, he backed off and allowed him to walk into the box and pass without even attempting to tackle him.
