What do we need in January?

It is a bit concerning that with the multiple months of knowing our squads weaknesses and preparation we aren’t even seeing bids go in.. know it’s often quiet with us but even so, been know for a while we need a centre half and a striker and we have changed manager and styles, but can’t imagine the type especially of striker we’d be after has changed all too drastically, does scream limited funds, guess we will see

There is no reason we would ever know, bids in or not, as the media is 100% there for clicks and not to inform. This is why there is endless crap about Man Utd, Chelsea, etc and few titbits for other clubs such as Leicester. If anyone signs on during this Window, it seems likely contact will have been made way before the window even opened.

True, just had hoped getting in a few days we would start hearing about bids being accepted or declined, which clubs will do to attempt to encourage bidding wars. More than anything it’s just the paranoia of bad windows from the past

Our problem is getting signings over the line. Other clubs are already agreeing deals and we are just hearing nonsense rumours, nothing concrete. With our position it’s really poor that we aren’t already active, both Wolves and Ipswich already close to getting signings over the line. Then it’s the bizarre case of waiting 3/4 games for the new signing to actually get a start.

Based on Ruuds comments in the pre match presser lean towards providing cover for injured players so I'd expect a RB n RW to come in.

only for the right price, and theyve reject 15/16mil bids from Palace and Ipswich, Ornstein said they want double that and would prefer him to stay at Boro too

personally i’d prefer to go for a lw that can occasionally cover the right. Facundo is a must start and if we want to upgrade its the left we need. 

 

I’d go slap £25m down on the table for Wendersen Galeno at Porto and see if we can give a brazilian winger another try

Said before in this window we should ideally only be securing loans for our forward positions & currently that’s only the RW as cover for Fats no point dropping an inflated £30m on someone who then stifles Fats progression once fit or themselves dropped to the bench.

We then only need to be buying a CB & RB as there are no Huth type defensive players around to loan anymore, we need players that will run through walls to keep the club up not someone looking to put themselves in the shop window for 5mths without a real care what happens to the club.

 

Everything else will need to wait until the summer otherwise we are just stacking players, unless of course an exceptional opportunity presents itself, but very much doubt that will happen in a January window.
