kingfox Posted 4 January Posted 4 January (edited) Posted him in the right-back the other week, will mention him again in here… Wesley Franca(RB) - Flamengo Arguably the best RB in Brazil Serie A, some of his Wyscout stats… 3.00 - Successful Attacking Actions per90(One of the best RB’s in the division for this statistic) 10.58 - Successful Defensive Actions per90(One of the best RB’s in the division for this statistic) 69.88% - Defensive Duels won Fbref stats… A good chunk of our budget must go on a RB, just get it done! Simonb Posted 4 January Posted 4 January Willock from Newcastle wouldn't be a bad option to cover for Abdul. We have literally no attacking threat down that side unless we play Facundo there out of position. Wouldn't mind us chucking a bid in, not getting much game time there behind Murphy is he. Not linked just a thought 1

Not linked just a thought Willock is not a winger, another central midfielder is definitely not a priority. We need a RB a genuine RW a CB and a striker. In our dreams. 1
Finn Claw II Posted 4 January Posted 4 January Chilwell and KWP. With decent full backs and Ndiddi and Mads back soon, I’m hoping we’d actually start to defend properly. striker on loan from a foreign league
Tommy Fresh Posted 4 January Posted 4 January (edited) Gastón Martirena probably wouldn't cost much and it'd be nice to have a right back who can push on and give teams something to think about Posted about him a lot but let's actually be a bit different for once ffs Edited 4 January by Tommy Fresh 2

desertfox2 Posted 4 January Posted 4 January Desperate times = Desperate measures. Serge Aurier on a free if he's fit?
Lad1966 Posted 4 January Posted 4 January (edited) I am getting a familiar feeling about this transfer, as per all the other windows under Rudkin. Any signings we make will be panic buys, with no real logic, just like Skipp😡 Edited 4 January by Lad1966 Spelling

Club hierarchy need to take this seriously, we are going down without serious investment. Throw the chequebook at it. Agree! We already need like 7 wins from 18 if we lose the Palace game and haven’t signed anyone may aswell save wasting the money and hampering the club further as we won’t be staying up

This is the view of a Fan pundit (whatever the fxxk that means) from football league world. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/coventry-city-milan-van-ewijk-galatasaray-january-sale/ Coventry City urged to cash in on Milan van Ewijk Despite starting every league game for Coventry so far this campaign, Murphy believes the club should still be looking to move the 24-year-old on for his poor performances, with the full-back touted to join Turkish giants Galatasaray. Speaking to Football League World, Murphy said: “Milan van Ewijk was great last season. He had a few dips in form here and there, but it was expected during his first season in English football, but when he got going, he was a very fast, attacking player, but for some reason, this season, he has shown none of that. “Whenever he gets the ball, instead of looking to create an attack, he will turn back and pass it back to the defenders or even the goalkeeper, and then the opposition can press on us and get on the front foot, so his game has changed completely, and he’s a massive problem for us. “He was a big outlet last season, with a lot of our attacks coming from down the right-hand side. Now we haven’t got anything down both flanks. With Haji Wright out injured and Ephron Mason-Clark missing, the creativity from the left has been killed, so we are now relying on something from the right, and if van Ewijk isn’t on it, then it’s non-existent.” Murphy added: “Right now, Van Ewijk is the most frustrating player to watch at Coventry City, especially how well he played last season compared to now. It’s all passing backwards and it’s like he’s petrified to try and take anyone on and make a mistake. “If an offer came in with profit for Van Ewijk right now, then I would snap their hands off. We need wholesale changes at this club and some change of personnel, otherwise the mentality of the side is going to stay the same, and Van Ewijk is one of few players we could probably make a profit on. “I would take that profit and look to buy a couple of players with it because we will be making a loss with him if he carries on playing like he is. “He would be on the bench for me if we had anyone else to bring in, but we don’t, so I’d try and sell him and bring in two players in his position to add a bit of competition, or bring a single player in his position and then a left-wing back to try and get two attacking full-backs in order to make us harder to defend against, because right now it’s not working and something needs to change.” Despite being prominent in Frank Lampard’s plans so far, it appears Van Ewijk is only making consistent appearances due to the lack of competition in the Coventry squad. His confidence has undoubtedly been shattered given such a poor first half of the season, and supporters are clearly growing frustrated with his lack of ability to turn his performances around. A move away in January could be just what Van Ewijk needs to restore some confidence into his game while being in a new environment, and Coventry would welcome funds in order to add more creativity to the squad to push themselves up the table. If a move to Galatasaray does develop, then Coventry should do what they can to push it through and swap an out-of-sorts figure for younger and hungrier players who can have a positive impact for the remainder of the season. 1

We been let down by the hierarchy of the club. I don’t want Top to sell up, but he’s been let down by Rudkin and the recruitment team and Top has let us down by not sacking those people! Was looking at Coventry fans views on Van Ewijk last week. Plenty of them saying the same thing, that he’s been nowhere near as good as last season, and ideally they want a new RB to provide competition for him should he stay. He does have the tools that we ideally need from a RB, but I’d rather we looked elsewhere personally.

Would be a ridiculous signing but apparently Aston Villa have bid for him. No chance he comes here if they're seriously pushing for him.
honeybradger Posted 4 January Posted 4 January (edited) Augustin Soria (Uruguay) is a South American right back who can also play in midfield that we could potentially sign on the cheap Recreated Ricardo's goal vs man city in the first clip as well. Edited 5 January by honeybradger

foxfanazer Posted 5 January Posted 5 January Borja Sainz miracle signing? Probably could've got him for the same money as Skipp in the summer
Mr.Bingles Posted 5 January Posted 5 January The most important thing we need in January is a new Director of Football to replace Rudkin who will run the club properly. Maybe even new owners. Sadly it'lll take years in the wilderness down in the EFL before this happens. 1
