If that's how it plays out, which I hope it doesn't, I am not sure who would go near us again, multiple managers in a row we've not been truthful with about finances and the position of the club, people in football talk.

If you want to improve results then that is the most obvious situation to remedy first. Delaying it by four or five matches could deny us 4-7 points on that factor alone. Usually you are looking at minor improvements, small percentages, little tweaks here and there, this a significant change that would directly impact results and directly impact the incoming points tally.
