Well I can’t call him blooper anymore as one newbie on here @goog who’s not been on here for too long has stated so, I’ll give Coops his dues if he plays us like he did 2nd half against Southampton for the comeback of the season so far  but I’ll still hold judgement on him until we play football as we know our amazing team can !!😉

This Cooper In thread will be longer than the Cooper Out if we win the next two games. F-ing love it 😀

My general theory on managers is, if during the game I am thinking "Is he trying to lose/not win?" and we then do that, I want the person out. Cooper had been filling that role, and I wanted him out.

If I ask myself that question, and we win, then the guy is he genius, and I am just a know-nothing fan.

I said elsewhere that if Cooper wins three in a row, I will leave the "Cooper Out" mob. I admit, it will take a little more to chain myself to the "Cooper In" brigade.

Never really looked at him and thought that he was trying to lose a game, his team selection/subs are not for me at times, but he is genuine I think. Because there's a lot on the line for him this season. If he's dismal for us and gets the sack, leaves him out in the cold after failing twice in the prem. There is a real chance for him to build something special at Leicester and I think that a lot of fan's are not prepared to believe it could happen for him/us. It could happen for him/us.

I never really think they are trying to lose - I mean, except for Rodgers, who wanted his payday - I just think if they had wanted to lose, they would have done the same thing ... I just think it is awful management. I love it when they prove me wrong!

Agree, hope he does prove us wrong because ultimately that is great for LCFC.

For me, Rogers was the first manager that gave me the feeling that he'd try to win, but absolutely didn't let it bother him if they didn't. Had some good games in the bank and a good excuse why they were failing. And nothing was his fault. Unprofessional.

If I don't go home a little stressed with a slight headache, then I'm not performing at peak and I know it. When it matters i haven't got the luxury of warming up/down. 100% first until last. In such a privileged profession, premiership managers shouldn't behave like Rogers.

It’s amazing how similar we look to the newly promoted forest side. I’d assumed that was down to their summer but we also have no clear identity.

It’s messy chaos, just like it was for them. If you play turgid football, but you have a lot of quality within the side, you can stay up. But that’s not what I aspire for us.

We’ve just had one of the best coaches we’ve ever had at the club and it’s hard to not notice the difference. Enzo was almost overly meticulous, so much that he wanted to control every player movement. Cooper I feel gives the players a lot of freedom to decide how they go about their individual games.

I would just love to be able to look through a  window and see how we’d have got on with Enzo… my gut feeling is that the defensive holes we’d have left would have led to heavy morale crushing defeats and we may well have been worse off

Can't help believing that Enzo would have done exactly the same things

Kompany did with the same outcomes.

knowing enzo, there’s no way he would have changed anything drastic enough to protect us.

We’d have either needed to perfect our summer recruitment or it wouldn’t have worked. Even if he makes chelsea a powerhouse again, it was still for the best that he moved on in all likelihood.

Kompany proved that you can sacrifice the team for your own gain. As the big clubs just want to see their style being used. To get relegated and end up at Bayern Munich is wild but had he stopped trying to play and ground out some results… he’d be at burnley still

I bow to your superiority.

Agreed, to me it was an excellent move for Enzo and us. I can't bring myself to agree with those who see him as anything other than a manager who can only work with a superior group of players to those around him. Leicester in the Championship and Chelsea in the Premiership. Any other way he gets found out. To me anyway.

This is not how the human condition works at all.

It is good to see someone who liked Enzo recognise we likely would have needed to have a very good window for the way he wants to play and also recognise he could have put his ideology above the best outcome for the team.

My thoughts on the football, I wouldnt call it complete chaos, the main differences I see is firstly Cooper is still finding his feet, and the squad also getting used to that, and of course we playing a much higher class of opposition now, but also when things start to fall for us in games, we do still make good passing, the main difference being though that under Cooper we have a much higher urgency to get the ball up the field first in any way possible, and then once its up there we are prepared to build up to a goal.

This was the main flaw with both Enzo and Rodgers, they were doing their build up right in front of our goal, or around the centre circle, and people kept calling it pep ball, or comparing it to Brighton, neither of those two teams do that, instead they also get the ball up to the final 3rd quickly, and only then they will start tapping it around, same with Arsenal.  It is interesting a lot of people didnt pick up on this.  Obviously I recognise the benefit of playing it out of defense vs hoofing it, under Cooper I think we do a bit of both, depending on how much pressure we under.  I feel under Enzo, we would be trying to do it all the time, and it would be inevitable there would be goals conceded when Mads passes to a opposite striker or something.

I could see as the confidence grew towards the end of the Saints game the football was I suppose to some people more pleasing to the eye, but what I really liked is for once we actually wanted the game more than the other team, I feel it has been a very long time since I seen grit from a Leicester City team, as recently we have been employing flair managers instead of hard work managers, I am also thinking I really like the Ayew signing now as well, he will get stuck in to duels which in recent years we have been a very soft touch.  His goal wasnt pretty, but who cares, he took the shot on knowing it was that or full time whistle, if you dont shoot you dont score.  I guess I am a Pearson/Cooper type supporter.

The team developing an "identity" is a bad thing as its a sign of a stubborn manager and inevitably teams will work out how to beat that system unless you have outstanding players to overcome it.

This is going to be far from my most popular take - I'm Cooper Agnostic. I think his "system," whatever that is, and his player selections have been poor. But i will say that in every game, i got the feeling that his team was really fighting and competing. Even outgunned and out-coached, Leicester has at least put up a fight in every game this season. Perhaps that is a low bar, but after the relegation season, i won't discount how important that is.

If he can figure out the right players and tactics, then this team could potentially be mid-table and easily survive the season intact. If he can't, honestly, seeing what we are competing against in the rest of the Premier League, we still might just scrape by.

All that said, I think the thing that annoys me most the discussion of Steve Cooper, is how much baggage the "Cooper Out" crowd brings into it. Like, so many people are laying at his feet their disdain for the ownership, for Jon Rudkin, for the faults that led to relegation, and all this irrelevant crap that he has nothing to do with. We were miserable all of last year, complaining about Enzo, even when we won every week, and unsurprisingly that hasn't changed under Steve Cooper, now that we are not winning as often.

There is plenty to blame Steve Cooper for, so i would just wish people would stick with the things he can actually control... like playing Ricardo lol

W e won the league       but lost    nearly 25   per cent of matches hardly every week  and there were draws also

Football is very simple for neanderthals like myself.

You can’t want him in very often then

going forward we were much better  - the issue last night was mistake at the back and losing the ball in midfield.  With those two problems not team can prevail in the epl - he needs to fix it pdq.
