Anyone who has even the slightest of hopes that the club do anything but the absolute minimum are setting themselves up for the most obvious disappointment.

We know the club, we know what they will do.

Having said that I wonder how many of the posters on here have bothered with the survey.....

I've done it twice, first time I hit submit prematurely but it allowed me to do it again. Not sure if that counts as two as it's against the supporter number :dunno:

We really need more ST holders and members to respond to the survey so a strong message goes to the club.

Has everyone had emails asking them to fill it in? Some people seem not to have received it.

Haven't received anything, why I'm trolling through this trying to see how you can complete the survey ?

So at the time of writing this post - this topic has had 253 replies and 16k views.

But has each & every poster/viewer completed the survey ?

If you are someone that hasn't, then time is running out, so just spend a couple of minutes now to complete the survey (link to access on our previous post directly above.)

I take it you have no idea how many have completed it ?

It doesn't surprise me if the numbers a low with our fan base.

I have engaged in this thread and have completed the survey.  Though while all in favour of safe standing I don't anticipate I will be using it but hope the club act swiftly and sensibly on it.  However the numbers engaging with this thread indicate that the support is not as wide spread as most posters think it is and the club would not be acting sensibly if they pissed off fans currently with STs in the kop more than is neccesary.  For clarity I think they would be best served by going for the top rows of the kop as this would restrict it to one area making it easier to police and provide  a focal point for better atmosphere.  They then could expand if demand exceeds what I and I suspect they expect.

I would suggest most fans don't even know there is a survey.

It should be the top news article on the club website if they want people to know.

It should be emailed to every ST holder

I received an email from the club on the 6th of December asking me to complete the survey, which I did, so I assume all season ticket holders did get an email.

I got one as a member too, so assuming it went to all members too

As a ST holder, I've received two emails, an initial one and a reminder, asking me to complete it.

Completed the survey. As a market researcher I have to say that is really a not well written survey and they won’t understand the nuances of the responses. I really hope that doesn’t affect their decisions

It won't, its already been made.

Brighton are bringing it in including various other changes:-

Phase three of the overhaul, a new hospitality area added to the north stand for the 2026-27 season, will increase the capacity of the stadium to 32,500. Other plans include the introduction of safe standing in the north stand in 2025 and in the relocated away section.

Ended up in the first row of this on Sunday without any notice from the club when getting the tickets.

Can’t say what standing would be like as tried to stand but instantly got told to sit down.

When seated it was absolutely horrendous, had to sit sideways as the seats we were in had half the leg room as normal seats. My old man was sat sideways with legs out into the stairwell. Add the bar that is at eye line level and it makes for a terrible seated experience.

Some LCFC staff came at the end so we told them honestly how bad it was to which they seemed surprised. Although did make a point in saying we hadn’t tried any of the other examples.

I suppose the idea is the seated adaptation would be used few and far between but definitely needs some work if they go with the style we were sat in.

This is the problem with the way the majority of clubs in england are doing it just shoving a rail there.  I guess when it is a safe stading area no-one will sit anyway, but the seat within the barrier works so much better.

As 'purpleonline' says, lack of knee room is a common problem in safe standing areas with plastic seats (as the photos below show). The curvature of the seat/backrest often pushes your backside quite a long way forward, so your knees end up a long way forward too. In areas of normal seating they would find room in the gaps between the backrests of the seats in front. But with plastic rail seats those gaps are generally taken up by the posts, so there's no space left for your knees.

That can also be an issue with barriers fitted behind existing seats, although in that scenario there is not generally a post in every gap, so at least some fans do get space for one knee.

With rail seats that are flat and fold up within the barrier, if you do choose to sit down, there is no curved plastic to push you forward, so your backside remains at the very back of the seat and your knees therefore don't push up against the seat in front.

Seems to have gone a bit quiet. Anyone know when we are due to hear some news?

There will be further discussions at the Fans Consultative Committee Working Groups on January 22nd, but not sure how quickly the information will be widely available, the minutes of those meetings tend to be published several weeks later.
