Nope, would rather lower risk appointment such as Moyes, but will give him a chance if it’s him, as I did with Cooper…

isnt having Ruud just like having Lampard ?

I'm not comfortable with that

Because they were both players? Other than that can’t really see the connection…

I want a experience manager. Nothing against Ruud Van nistelrooy guys but a wrong choice.

I'm with you on this. Would you have been happy with Corberan? Or someone else? Do you think this is too rushed?

No. Can’t see the fuss apart from him being a decent player and more photogenic than Cooper. One reasonable management stint in an iffy league, apparently fell out with players and/or leadership. Not considered for management at the club where he was a legend. But he is a big foreign name.

Can you shed any light on how close Martin O'Neill was to getting the job this time?

Am I the only one worried if it is RVN he has no track record with teams who aren't one fighting in the top half of the league.

I can't be arsed reading 48 pages since I last checked this thread. What's this stuff about Rudkin?

Corberan has the benefit of a clear coaching pedigree and has implemented something fairly remarkable at West Brom. Better credentials than Maresca when we took him on, albeit we are now asking for a step up to PL (which Maresca seems to have managed just fine).

It’s a huge risk given what’s waiting for us if we go down. If it wasn’t for the name, would he even be considered? I’d prefer Corberan but fully behind him if it happens.

I feel he's being held back by the limits of budget (or lack of) at WBA.

The “Enzo I miss you” sign in this article, implies it was being held up by a Leicester player celebrating after our defeat to Chelsea… 😅 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-14123523/amp/New-photo-Leicester-Citys-Christmas-party-Copenhagen-emerges-showing-weary-looking-players-fancy-dress-manager-Steve-Cooper-lost-job-home.html

Nobody comes out of this well imo.

On another note that is a bloody lovely hotel, the bakery in it is has amazing cardamom buns.

Probably wrong thread, but the sign was clearly held up by a woman - presumably a hostess at the club. I am guessing you ask them to put a message up, someone did that for a laugh (in a club in Copenhagen). Really not a big deal, the players would obviously miss someone who took them to a title and this was obviously an in-joke at or by one person (“I” miss you, not “we all” miss you).

By that metric when Alonso went to Leverkusen it was like them having Lampard an'all.

Rare example for all the Rooney's, Lampard's Gerrard's. Big names with little experience in the top job.

Would agree with Enzo and a few others being in a similar boat, but taking us on as the prospective best squad in the championship is a lot easier than bottom 5 PL.

The big question over people like Ruud is does he have the flexibility and know how to able to make a change and get it right as the man in charge. Not saying he can't.. that's the risk. I'm sure Ruudkin understands that risk but I don't know about Top.

Never thought I'd say it but Moyes is the obvious choice right now. He is what we need to stay up. The more I think about RVN, the more I think it's just too much of an unknown.
