If we appoint Ruud we need to be aware that if he is remotely successful, he will be off to Man Utd at the first opportunity. And they go through managers every 2 seasons.

The first time Amorim wobbles and we’re flying under the Dutchman, it will be ‘get Ruud in’ from all the media / pundits

Remember when people were flapping about Brenton getting the United job? We'd have been well compensated as well.

Amorim unless a disaster will at least get a couple of years like Ten Hag did, for RVN to be in consideration next time that job comes up he'll have to have Leicester going well in the Premier League. We just need to stay up this year and go from there.

West Brom fan take

When asked if he was concerned by reports linking Corberan with Leicester, FLW's West Brom fan pundit Callum Burgess insisted that he expects him to remain loyal to the Baggies, especially as we're not even midway through a season.

"I think while Leicester may be prepared to meet the compensation fee necessary to start talks with Corberan, ultimately it's going to depend on whether or not he wants to join another uncertain situation when he's just been able to get out of one at West Brom following the recent takeover by Shilen Patel," Callum said.

"He does seem to have a great relationship with our new owner, and Patel has done a lot of things to try to keep Corberan happy, such as bringing in Mikey Johnston, who was his top target in the summer, and investing in the training pitch.

"Patel has done a lot to try to keep Corberan happy while trying to get out of the deep end of Guochuan Lai's era at the club.

"If there was a time for Corberan to leave, it would have been under Lai when it could have been easy for him to walk away from the club.

"I think there's a bit of loyalty that Corberan has with the club that wouldn't see him leave in the middle of a season unless there's an opportunity that is too good to refuse came up for him.

"Whether or not that is Leicester remains to be seen as they are more than likely going to be relegated back to the Championship this season, and Carlos might want to wait for a more stable opportunity like an Everton.

"It would be really difficult for him to keep Leicester up this season, and he would more than likely would be managing in the Championship next season.

"I think if he was to leave Albion any time soon, I think it would be in the off-season rather than in the middle like it is now."

Mercury

West Brom's Corberan was a contender for the City job in the summer and is at pretty short odds with the bookies now.

But he was asked about the King Power Stadium vacancy last night and he said that he's "completely focused" on his work with the Baggies and he hopes their fanbase don't treat the links as a "lack of respect" because he can't control the "speculation".

Any manager would say the same thing

Don't understand why we are looking at RVN. Dont understand the general obsession with appointing former high profile players as managers when they have little to no experience. Ie Cov binning off Robins for Lampard. Surely in the position we're in we need to be looking at someone with experience? The whole thing makes no sense at all.

Corberan would surely be a good bet instead!!

I think WBA fans would be more concerned about lack of goals than lack of respect.

Like Wes and O'Neill?

Have you forgotten the dogs abuse that Martin got in the early days? I was sat 2 rows behind the directors box during the infamous Sheff Utd match. He was only later accepted due to an upturn in results.

Same with Wes except he was decent from day one. If he wasn't the same would've happened.

Surely that would happen to any manager/player. Pleat was constantly abused and so were many players.

I was reading this carefully until the line "Carlos might want to wait for a more stable opportunity like an Everton"! lol

He’s holding fire after jumping the gun for the Potter news in the summer.

His record is poor on our managerial selections - suggested Benitez would be appointed before Smith got the job as well.

Plastic. He needs to look petrified and say he's being held at WBA against his will, and will pay his own release clause to move to Leicester and take a pay cut. No dedication. Sad.

I thi know Maresca showed first hand that it can work so people can see there are other options outside the usual gaggle of names that get bandied about.

Is it too late to submit my application for the managers job?

I'd promise to continue the excellent work of the previous incumbent:

- puffing my cheeks plenty

- encouraging the boys to "get it to Facu"

- insisting JJ runs up and down the right flank even more

- pouring salt into the ref's tea at half time

I would even be willing to wear that disgusting khaki tracksuit.

Could you upgrade the "juicy" 2 piece and it's yours!

Let's face it the Leicester job isn't that attractive and can see why Potter and Moyes have said no. We had to take the best on offer with Cooper. I know everyone wants an appointment asap but we need to get this right otherwise it's certain relegation. Whoever we get will be a gamble. I really think we won't have much to choose from.

Surprised there’s no big post from any reliable media sources on this one yet considering all of our fanbase consider it done :dunno:

We seem to be really good at keeping things under wraps nowadays.

You don't hear many rumours and they only seem to release info on their terms.

One of the (very few) positives of the club.
