As with anything, you keep stripping the cupboards and fail to invest, eventually you are only going to be left with the shite to serve up. Our squad is NOWHERE near good enough for this league. We are scraping the barrell with our first teamers, nevermind their understudies.

We have invested in players, unfortunately not very good ones! The correct model is buy low sell big, rotate players without weakening the side, sadly the last part of the business model has been a fcuking disaster.

Don't know if this is a general issue or whether I've just been quite unlucky but both away games I've been to this season have had fans turning on each other and having to be held back. It's so embarrassing.

Also, what's with the lads who just stay in the concourse getting shitfaced taking pictures of themselves? Full of them yesterday at 4-0 down laughing and joking. What's the point in going?

This photo sums up how we defend. Our WHOLE team is in the box, no-one covers three Newcastle players at the far post: GOAL. My son's U17 team knows better than that.

If you watch this clip in full it isn’t the fact the back post is completely free, it’s the fact that the first header is completely untracked by Justin and Choudhury who just don’t look behind them. Absolute school boy stuff.

How does Mcateer start, never mind get a full 90. Imagine what those on the bench are thinking watching that cereal packet competition winner play.

Level too high for him, he's still young of course and learning but perhaps premier league is just not is level at the moment. I'd say get him out on loan in january get his some regular starts and performance levels up in the championship.

He's 23, likely already reached his ceiling

Right lads, remember what the gaffer said, press their midfield, exploit the huge gaps and get at their oh so slow full backs.

Right lads, remember, after the match we stay in Newcastle and sample all the night life the north east has to offer.

We'll make our way back to Leicester sometime tomorrow.

Just watching the highlights ffs where was the defence they left so much space for Newcastle to Exploit our wings Choudary wasted so many passes giving the ball away, hope Mads isn’t out for too long or we’ll be having the most goals against us with Ward in goal and defensive nightmares like yesterday?

Things started to look great under the new RVN era it’s going to be a tough time if Top doesn’t give him a decent Transfer budget for January, a time too where I can see RVN ship out the deadwood we still have that should have gone ages ago but really hoping RVN can sort what we still have till then as it won’t get any better over the coming weeks with the teams we’re about to play !

Really how do expect to win a game with a midfield of skipp and choudary , in the second half , skipp gave it to choudary who then gave it back this was then done 2-3 more times , neither wanted the ball , they had no idea of going forward , mcateer is not 1st grade standard, how he gets a run is a mystery, coady was woeful, if we don’t get reinforcements in the window we are going down

Geordie back and not on the wind up or anything.

From a Newcastle POV, I think we were clearly up for it after the humbling at Brentford and (Botman and Pope aside), we're starting to see a settled first choice team. Gordon, Bruno and Isak all played like they had something to prove, and frankly they did. Gone missing in a few games against sides outside the title challengers.

Bruno was a lucky boy, another day, another referee and he could get a yellow for that dive. However if he does get that yellow, I don't think he makes that yellow card tackle immediately afterwards.

Definitely think you've got enough to survive, Southampton and Wolves are both a mess and while Ipswich are game they ultimately haven't the quality that you and Everton do. So hopefully see you up here again in 25/26.

Hope all that made the trip had a good day out regardless.

P.S. Would you like to buy Longstaff for £30-40m?

With Rudkin running the show, there's every chance it could happen lol

Man I remember when Bruce was managing you and you nearly signing Hamza Choudury from us...how things change.

Live show tomorrow about it.

It's basically going to consist of 30 minutes of me explaining how crap we were throughout.

Not really much else too add, that pretty much sums up the performance, any sort of analysis of that performance would be a waste of your time and efforts, to summarise, hopefully things will improve against Wolves!

I think there are still some things to learn:

  • Newcastle’s intense high press pinned us back and stopped us from getting going.
  • We were poor at playing the ball out under pressure and retaining it to force Newcastle back into their own defensive block. Kicked it long way too often.
  • Ndidi and Soumare missing meant that we lost the midfield battle. A complete lack of physicality and winning battles meant the Newcastle midfield overrun us. Ontop of this, passing by the double pivot was not good enough and prevented us from creating a foundation to build on.
  • Isak and Gordon up front were superb not only with their goals, but in leading the press. They won so many ground duels.
  • Leicester were poor, but the way Newcastle play, they made us look poor.
  • Defensively we were poor and capitulated badly.

What's a shame is that against Brighton, the second point was the area we improved the most in. And that's why missing all 3 of Ndidi, Winks and Soumare was so painful.

I remember when we were told we couldn't afford to sign Hamza Choudury on loan from you.

Now there's a much better class of player we're told we can't afford to sign.

Jokes aside, I like Longstaff, he's a decent PL midfielder, he works hard, pops up with goals, is an intelligent footballer, has good technique and all that good stuff. Unfortunately, his sale would represent a huge windfall in PSR terms. €25m of pure profit. I'd rather keep the local lad, but rules being what they are, the "Richest club in the world" is forced to sell, yet again.

Only if you take Danny Ward for 10 Mil,  fortunately his Sale would see an upsurge  on so many fronts at LCFC, go on you know you want to!!

When was the last time we grounded out a result against a team we’re not expected/likely to get points from. I

Ironically, it was against Newcastle about 19 months ago.
