I remember the 80/81 season. Mighty Liverpool as they were then, hadn’t lost at home for about 3 years or so. A very average but young and hard running City went up there and won 2-1, a result much more unexpected than the one coming up on Boxing Day. We were the worst team in the league then too. It won’t happen with this lot because they don’t work hard enough and modern coaches don’t go man to man and stop teams playing.

As rash as they are I think Faes and Okoli need to start as we will need mobile CBs against Liverpool’s forward machine.

I would be happy if they are sat either side of Coady or Vestergaard.

 

Again agree I’d also select Hamza to be used as the RB supporting Midfield allowing Soumare to progress with the ball & being there with Winks if it’s lost/ turned over because these break quickly and if just Winks in the hole they will pass around him with ease such is their passing and speed.

 

Vardy maybe just for the spirit but VVD tends to keep him quite and as he don’t run as much now would Daka be a better option 🤷‍♂️

Are best hope of getting anything out of this game is a massive downfall of snow between now and boxing day the game is called off, we get a completely new defence in January, the fixture isn't played until the end of the season by which time Liverpool will have already won the title and playing all their kids :)
