Could you imagine the reaction if Elsom had hogged the trophy on the pitch at Wembley and had staff wave a giant portrait of Prince Charles at the crowd

O'Neill and the players would never have stood for it. I do wonder if this might be spoken about more in future with former players.

Always found it bizarre that we ended up with the supposed greatest miracle in football, yet, our only statue is of the owner.

Lenin/Mao/Kim Jong vibes

The signs were there a long, long time before all of this.

People still can't bring themselves to blame Top and Rudkin - Rodgers, Whelan and Herlihy all blamed last night. Explains why the protests have never got off the ground. People can't bring themselves to turn against Top.

From what I understand both Sousa and Sven appointments done to appease Top.  Sousa in particular if anyone can remember as well as me, we were attempting tippy tappy with the squad KP inherited, a complete and utter disaster locked us bottom of the table after 10 games.
Pearson coming back Mandaric suggestion and is when Vichai started to make his son step back and the team for a few years was allowed to play proper more direct football again.

The Pearson sports science stuff was already 80-90% torn down by the time Rodgers was here, but the rest of it went by the time Rodgers was gone, and we abandoned previous policy of selling first team players.  However I think that policy was also doomed to failure, as you cant progress as a club constantly selling your best players every season.

We eventually got to where we are today, with an insistence on specific way of playing  ( I think some dont realise how big of a deal this is, its really screwed us on the pitch), an attitude of that we better than what we are hence the unsuitable training ground, and constant over spending on wages, acquiring EPL players instead of lower league etc,.

An example I can give is that we now concede a lot of goals 90% because of training methods and style of play, 10% personnel, but the regime and defenders of the style blame the personnel instead which has led to a unusually high turnover of defenders, and left the attacking part of the squad unmanaged, which in turn is why we ended up in a predicament of only one proper striker at a club who isnt fit for the task, we used to routinely have 4 strikers at the club.  We didnt improve when Faes left, didnt improve when Justin left, because the issue is the style of play and training methods.

Thankfully we still have the old training ground, so a fix that side is still possible with a new owner selling Seagrave, then it will be about bringing back a proper wage structure, proper ethos at the club, stat based recruitment, lower league recruitment, and stopping the obsession with trying to play like Barca/Man city.

Nobody will buy Seagrave unless a massive hotel chain fancies it and returns it to a golf course. It will fall into a state of disrepair.

Not many if any on here, but definitely a lot out there, they would genuinely defend them if they took us in to the national league or administration, it will always be something else (managers, Efl, PL, PSR etc.)

They lack the ability to think critically.

There is only 1 truth this demise is all on Top and King Power. They make all the decisions, they protect a chancer like Rudkin, they hold no one to account, theres no plan, they just wing it and assume it will be ok. And theyve managed to brainwash a core of the fanbase in to just accepting it, like this is completely normal and fine, its genuinely astonishing. I think any other club would be doing alot more to get them out, we are acting like we are Luton or Wigan and going back to where we belong after a nice little fling.

I've never understood, especially in the world of competitive sport, why anyone wouldn't want to constantly push to be better and not accept failure, what is the point in being a football club?

I think it really is one of the most astonishing things you'll ever see in football. The most egregious example of sportswashing you'll probably ever see.

Lots of sensible and fair comments.

Personally I think Vichai gets far too much credit when people put the success down to him. He wasn’t crap in that we were successful but you can’t say he was a knowledgable owner with a plan, such as Bloom at Brighton and Benham at Brentford. Their rises have come as a result of their owners. Ours was due to the manager and his team. Where you can credit Vichai is being able to admit his mistakes and taking decisive actions which his son is incapable of on both counts.

However, the culture of KP over LC and financial recklessness date back to Vichai. As others have said, hogging the trophy, removal of nods to our prior history, Thai king picture etc. Let’s be honest, we were probably all guilty of just not calling it out at the time because things were going well. But when things go wrong, it brings all this to light.

The statue should be in the memorial garden and I have said my piece on that enough before.

Ultimately what has happened to the fan base is the worse bit. This cult devotion is embarrassing and a stain on the club. I can’t wish these fans away from the club fast enough. You just know if we had a new owner, these same people would be kicking off and behaving toxically.

Does make you wonder why we kept Belvoir Drive.... even just for the women, Seagrave is massive, no reason the 2 couldn't share.

Maybe it was a back up for when things go wrong 🤭🤔🤪

We should have been using Belvoir since Christmas!

Take away the fancy trimmings and go back to basics, earn the right!

Financially you have got to drown them out. Maybe when Relegation is confirmed, there may be a few more fans that begin to turn on KP - majority of fans just follow along with the popular opinion/not against change

Dont pay for season tickets, matchday tickets (including offers), merchandise etc. This is a business and until KP realise the money isn’t there then their hands will become forced

I've heard people suggesting that either we should or we'll have to sell Seagrave. Surely selling Belvoir Drive would be easier?

It’s not cos Belvoir Drive has a load of legal stuff around it which makes it very difficult

Seagrave is also running at about 3x the amount of what Belvoir Drive costs too, which when your in League 1 and no money, you take the cost effective option not the prettiest

I’ve been saying this for years. That big white elephant at Seagrave was the biggest waste of money. Belvoir drive kept the players grounded kids bombarding there car for autographs and driving past people’s houses that are struggling financially. Now they couldn’t give two 💩’s there going to centre parks for training everyday. They’re too pampered too Lazy too Unfit and definitely not fit Enough to wear the Fox.

KING POWER OUT!!!!
