Assume Regis the Sunderland boss is the one who developed Enzo? Was the Lorient B manager from 2015 then took senior job in 2022.

Probably the only reason that transfer has any hope.

Yes that's correct. It's a nice move for the player to regain some enjoyment and probably put himself in with a chance of promotion and then a PL move.

Sunderland have lucked out with Regis to be fair (they were due some!) if they get up this season I could see them really kicking on.

Sunderland have since their current ownership took the reins really have changed their approach, to recruitment especially, stats based targeting young players on the up. They’ve been doing very well and making a fortune while still retaining a competitive squad. Everything we’re not and we’re everything they were a few years ago.

So sunderland will sell Bellingham for 22 and get le fee for maybe 10?

Great business by them. Surely a matter of time until they come back up.

Some great deals being done by clubs not too far above us. Yet we're here doing nothing

Just copy and paste this every January

Intrigued how much Newcastle will get for Dubravka for a Saudi club

Interested to see who they bring in, Pope is injury prone and Dubravka is one of the best number 2's around!

Rumours again around Trafford, they wanted him last summer so wouldn't shock me for them to get him

Interesting, planning for Europe and needing HG players I guess.

Someone will need to explain to me how clubs like Bournemouth can successfully manage FFP, or at least it seems that way. Sold Solanke but can't think any other big sales. They don't have trouble convincing players to join them.

Well ran club, established in the prem, no threat of relegation and a fantastic manager with a clear identity .._____

Sold Solanke for £60m and all the players they've brought in have been below or slightly over that level? Think it's a fairly easy one to explain?

Low overheads... tiny stadium, but still bringing in good sponsorship deals due to stability in the Prem.

They're going to sell Kirkez for north of 50m either this window or in the summer.

Oh and they're signing young talent who they can give big contracts to and spread costs out.

Like any prem club they're 3 or 4 bad signings away from struggling. It's just how it goes

Wages wages wages.

We created an unsustainable wage structure unless you reached Europe each season and sold a player for mega bucks. One slip and you’re in a huge deficit.

managing the straight profit or loss on transfer fees is easy. It’s the agent fees and wages that weigh everything down.

At this moment in time, our wage bill is supposedly back in line but all the issues that we are currently dealing with are from the previous campaigns and the fact the championship revenue  figures are now being included
