Personally, I've never been bothered about Forest. Not in the sense that 'they are/aren't our rivals', just not being from the area means I've never had the distain towards them like many Leics folk will do.

I would much rather them win it than Liverpool or Arsenal to be honest. Their fanbases are unbearable already.

Also, I don't find Forests squad too bad, opposed to the Man C, Arsenal, L'pool etc squads of entitled cheats! Always liked Wood after his spell at City.

If you are a Leicester fan, the neighbouring counties to your club are Nottingham, Derby and Warks (Cov).  We don't have to bother with Northampton or Lincoln.  Their clubs become our main derby rivals whether they like to acknowledge it or not and that develops over time.  It doesn't matter where your house is.   It doesn't matter if you live in Burbage or in Baghdad, that is irrelevant.

I shouldn't have to explain how the whole pantomime works.

I was about to post something along the same lines.

It doesn't matter where you live in the City or County (or anywhere else) ... Forest, Derby and Cov are our 3 local rivals.        I don't want either of those 3 doing particularly well.

("our" being used in the sense of a collective shared-emotion fan-based situation, or whatever you want to call it.)

Good luck to them - always good to see some variety at the top.

It's a good club and decent fans too. I live and work in Nottingham and there is a real buzz around. Pretty stark to when turning up to City games, which is a bit rubbish nowadays. Believe it or not, the people that grown up 30 miles up the road are not that different to Leicester folk.

If they win the league and we go down, that’ll be the worst season I’ve seen.

That´s exactly what happened in 1978. We were worse than now - our top scorer scored 4 league goals I think.

Mixed feelings. I don't like to see Forest do well but it's good for football when a non "top 6" side does well.

My thoughts exactly. Good luck to them. Rather Forest than any of the big London Liverpool or Manchester clubs.

Forest priced around 50/1 just now. Twenty quid on should soften the blow if they do it. (200 if you’re really worried).

This is why God-fearing folk like me become gambling addicts.

You clearly didn't listen to what I said at all.

They're your closest rivals. They're not mine. They're not a lot of others. But there also are a lot of others. Depending on where you live in Leicestershire.

Life is not binary, you know.

As others suggested we have 3 rivals Forest, Derby and Cov regardless of where you live...

We also have many songs about them no idea why people would be happy for them to win it.

Anything can happen and yes forest can win it if they keep up the tempo and Liverpool & arse drop their pants. Kudos to them for trying and if they win congrats.

i don’t really care too much other than them upsetting the big 6 cartel. What I don’t like is some forest fans talking smack about our achievement. ‘If’ they win it still doesn’t compare to what we did back in 2016.

It wouldn't even be that they won the league. What would be annoying, and this would probably be the same for any club of Forest's size winning the league, is the comparison to our achievement.

As brilliant as it would be on the face of it, it doesn't even touch the sides of what we did. Their squad costing around £200m being the main reason.

It's bad enough they try and claim the European Cups as miracles when they could spunk a million on Britain's most expensive player. Would be like us claiming our miracle but Kante had cost us £80m.

I do think people saying they would be pleased for them etc because they don’t live locally or don’t know Forest fans etc are either trying to play the same ‘I don’t care’ game as Forest fans do or just completely miss the point.

I don’t hate Forest. I grew up on an area of Leicestershire that borders Notts and have relatives who are sound people who are Forest fans. But they are a regional rival of our club, no matter where you are based. Personally, I have taken pride in us being the top team in our region for many years and it sucks that their resurgence has coincided with us turning to shit. I’d love for us to both be challenging at the right end of the table as it’d be good for the region but I don’t want them to rub in our failings by doing what we are no longer.

Also, for every side outside of the usual suspects that gets top 4, Newcastle, Villa in the last two years and if Forest do this year, it year on year compounds that what many people classed as success from Rodgers was actually, as many of us said back then, abject failure. I hope everyone can recognise that now.

Weren't you even born in a Nottingham hospital John?

No, simply because from a selfish point of view I want Leicester to be the only club known as "doing the impossible"

Would be good for football in the wider sense, the big clubs have far too much power. The Premier league has been a disaster for the football purist. How wish sometimes they'd just left it well alone as the old Division 1.

Unfortunately yes, QMC. Always a constant source of disappointment to see that on your passport lol

I think I may have said that previously in defence of KDH who people were saying couldn’t be a Leicester fan as he was born in Nottingham!

It's just counter attacking, it's not that clever, and it's only working because there isn't any old Italian managers in the Prem, (Enzo never learnt it).

They'll get found out, any day now.

wouldn't bother me tbh. any time the "big 6" dont get their grubby hands on it (outside of arsenal) i'd be happy. also i heard of Forest fans wanting us to win the league.

and bonus...it means they can then stfu about the european cup.

I don't think they'll win the league, I don't think they'll even make top 4. Four of the following will finish above them Liverpool, arsenal, Chelsea, man city and Newcastle.

They've already lost more matches than we did when we won the league.
