well yes but you've rather completely missed the point. we're weak on the right because we have a single player playing two positions without any support due to a liability of a winger in front of him

Add to that no attempts to track and tackle in the middle of the park and JJ drifting in side all the time leaving space for the winger and full back.  Eventually Ayew plods back and gives a needless foul away.

Every game is on the Day. Today is all about the committment from the players. Reach the same level as last week gives us a real chance.

If not, it could be a long afternoon and back to the drawing board.

2-0 defeat and foxesfalk meltdown.

Result blamed on a combination of lazy players, useless players, the fans, the owner and the manager but curiously not on Everton who actually scored the goals.

Danny Ward blamed for inability aim the balls where he should do during the warm up for Stolarczyk

Is Hermansen definitely back? That would give the defence a boost and we've barely seen that under RVN.

Strong.

I mean let's be positive about today and the game, but he's accountable for everything that's happened. It's on his watch. Forget Rudkin, it stops and starts with him.

But feeling positive about today weirdly

We've got Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Newcastle & Liverpool before the middle of April.

Any momentum would be short lived. We need maximum points out of games like this. I'm all for hard fought points against the top teams, but not Everton.

Only my opinion, of course, but I'd be disappointed with a point. We need to be putting pressure on the teams above us, a point will do fvck all.

Out of interest,  we're just about half way through the season now, if we can't expect a win against teams like Everton, then who would you expect us to beat (besides Southampton)?

Not an argument by the way, just curious where people expect us to pick up wins when we're settling for draws against the likes of an injury struck Everton team?

Not an argument either. But this aged like milk lol

The general point being, that be able to grind out draws here and there is why Everton keep staying up each year whilst circling the drain. Looking like they're going to do it at our expense for the 2nd time in 3 years...

Not really?

If your happy with a point against the team directly above us, then your part of the problem.

Out of interest,  where do you expect us to get 3 points? Or are you relying upon us just getting draws (baring in mind we'll need three draws and Wolves not pick up a single point to even crawl out of the relegation zone)

Looking at the table, where would 3 points have got us? Out of the relegation zone.

Where would 1 point have got us? Absolutely nowhere.

Sorry but we've got ourselves into the position where we need wins, not draws.

Regardless of what the result was, if we can't be looking at a win against a team 1 place above us, who do we look to get wins from?

So no, not aged like milk really. Hey, by your thinking, we just need 3 draws now (without anyone else picking up so much as a point) and we'll be out the relegation zone. Southampton coming up soon at home, we going for a draw there too mr cooper?

I think we're just misunderstanding each other. I agree we absolutely need wins, and that ultimately draws won't be much use to us.

But draws, set in context, can be big. Yes Everton are ahead of us because of their 3 extra wins, but their ability to draw games much better means they get more points, lose fewer games and every game you're drawing increases your chance of winning it.

But a draw away at Everton, after the Spurs win, after 7 losses on the bounce could have been the start of something.

It's not about 'settling' for draws. It's simply about grinding out results.

Like, let's say we win 3 out of the remaining 14 games. That puts us on 26 points. We'd probably also need to draw 1-2 games as well to have a chance of staying up.

I'm with you, I just don't feel happy settling for a draw against a team 1 place above us.

But yeah, I get your thought now.
