No McNeil, No Calvert-Lewin, they shouldnt be over running us. just stick someone on Ndiaye.

Most likely will be JJ who got danced around last time by Ndiaye for their goal.

I see that as the defender keeping an almost perfect line with the rest of the back four and letting his attacker stray 3 yards offside.

If he’d have stayed goalside I’d be worried

i see how you'd think it looks like that, but he's supposed to be in the same body position, and in line with the centre backs. keeping the winger in his eyeline to his right  (not his left) so that he can either volley clear or head clear when the cross comes in. He doesn't leave him to go offside - he just doesn't know where he is because he's watching the ball only. It's what JJ does constantly. Not saying he will do it all the time, but he got pelters for it in his last Parma game when the opp scored, so looks like he needs it coaching out of him. Also probably why he didn't start after signing in a big problem position for us.

Was a bit terrified by Coulibaly's cameo at the end of Spurs game:

Outfought winger to retrieve ball.

Ran forward

shit himself

ran back

gave ball away.

got in line with Faes and then let Mike Moore run off the back of him for their final chance which Stola saved but was marginally offside.

scared the living shit out of me as a cameo.

liked the physicality but he is raw as fook

He only ran back and lost the ball because there was nobody with him to pass to. Everyone was camped at the back.

I liked his burst forward. Showed he can take on and beat players, and he relieved some pressure on the defence for minute. Everyone else was just booting it out to come straight back at us.

It’s so difficult to analyse without knowing what’s in his mind. I can see both possibilities being true.

If asked by the technical analysis team (let’s hope that we do this), were you aware of this guy behind you? Yeah I was concentrating on keeping a perfect line with the rest of the defence knowing that he’s either offside or I’m catching him… then a coach can work on his body position etc.

He could certainly have been a step towards our goal as the ball is played but blimey that’s a small margin to criticise and only possible with video replays and not full speed games.

It’s a really interesting one because in reality his guy was offside and he kept a good line… but was that due to luck or judgement?

A quiet conv with a great manager in training is the difference those managers make improving players and getting that extra 1%

I think it's one to watch over the next few games. Everton will certainly be loading some crosses from harrison or whoever they are playing right wing on to the far post. let's see how he goes.

I quite fancy this to be exciting contest, I reckon 2-2 draw which isn't a bad result at all based on Everton's recent form.

Yes I do too. Play like we did at the weekend again and we have got a good chance. They will think they have a great chance and I can see it pan out much like the weekend.

You know this won’t happen right… and for good reason!

Because of a couple of poor performances? Still more likely to make something happen than Ayew

Yes, but at the cost of defensive shape is it worth it.

Ask yourself, should a relegated side really be playing two flamboyant 10’s, even if one is playing out wide?

Loses the ball too much to play both him and BEK.

What happens when you’re trying to make something happen and not play the safe pass

Yes I agree but in the position we are in and with the squad that we have, we cannot afford that luxury. We play one or the other in my opinion

Maybe we wouldn’t be a ‘relegated side’ if we played with our more positive players.

Ayew is hardly the workhorse on the wing, jogs around most the time

Play badly you need to earn your spot. He does make things happen but there is a cost to it. Currently, BEK is the main man and rightly so. Facundo needs to improve and he will be given his chance.

Yeah I agree BEK is the first name on the team sheet, it’s Ayew I want Buonanotte in for.

I don’t think Ayew offers anything going forward and although Reid got two assists I don’t think him or Mavididi offer much.

The experience of Ayew and Reid was a key factor in us getting the win on Saturday. Not a chance either will be dropped for Everton.

Never change a winning team unless your hand is forced.

Bobby Reid was better than any Spurs player on Sunday. Deserves another start.

Ayew as frustrating as he is works very hard for us and pops up in the right areas. The two goals we scored in the losing run was one assist and one goal for Ayew. Bobby was instrumental in both goals we got against Spurs. They both have to start at Everton
