"But if he were any good, why would he be part of Leicester City's Academy?!" seems to be the mindset at play.

Yeah it's more a slight on the higher ups and their management of youths I think. Was clear as day he was gonna be a talent going back to Rodgers. Had the awful injury of course which set him back but he's dropped straight into the Championship and doesn't look out if place. Great signs!

My concern is that with us starting next season with Fatawu, Mavididi, BDCR, Ayew and McAteer on the books (maybe Monga too), the club view him as a sellable asset with plenty of forward thinking championship clubs capable of a 5m bid we may view as a quick win.

We have to be brave in the summer, back the youngsters, even if it means 2-3 years in the championship as they mature

I think Ayew and Reid will depart.

I have heard Rudkin is taking them with him when he becomes DoF at Corby Town.

Who in their right mind is paying us to sign Ayew and Reid they will still be here next season

They’ll have relegation clauses re salary and release

they’ll not be better off hanging round us in the championship than leaving.  something that was sadly lacking in the past.   Hence I agree that they’ll probably leave.   Presumably we committed to a fair size s/o fee with Reid that we won’t be able to get out of but hopefully the cost of ayew was mainly in his fee and we’ll have to take a bath on that

if either of them re here next season then it’s because they actually like being here than for any financial reason.. I think Reid is likely to end up in the states.

Clutching at straws but could Ayew maybe go to Saudi league?

Sad thing is they should be a lot more suited to that level……decent Championship players….admittedly probably for a single season…..

Unless they change their style of play, which I can’t see happening then they are of no use.

Reid was on a free so, that's not a problem. Ayew's book value will be £2.5m, we could loan him for a year and be no worse off.

Ayew strikes me as someone who won’t want to play in the championship even if he is on ridiculous wages. He screams Turkish league to me.

How do sign on fees for free transfers work? Presumably that wouldn’t affect a sale For Reid as you say?

A lot depends on who stays out of Bilal, Reid and Ayew.

Ideally, Reid and Ayew leave and we have,

Fatawu & Evans

Bilal & Alves

Mavididi & McAteer (and Monga if he stays)

We wouldn’t need to invest in the attacking midfield positions.

If Bilal goes, I’d happily have Alves at no.10 but fitness and injury wise, could he be relied upon for 46 games? In this case, if shifting Ayew was not financially viable, and wages were reduce, I could tolerate him being back up for Alves for the season and going at the end of his contract. If Bilal stays, just shift Ayew regardless.

Or Bilal goes, we can shift Ayew for a deal that is financially viable. We then need a new central attacking player but without that getting in Alves’ way, do we bring in a younger player again or loan someone on the basis our loan players seem to be, where they aren’t likely to be in the starting 11?

Or would Logan Briggs be capable as back up for Alves if Bilal and Ayew had gone? Too much of a risk?

Reid will be good in champ. Prefer to keep

I don’t disagree in principle but we are well off in these positions so my concern would be him stunting the development of our future.

If we play with 3 behind the striker, I see this as being;

Fatawu (right)

Bilal or Alves (centre)

Mavididi (left)

Then there is the one of Bilal and Alves (if Bilal stays) and players like Evans and Monga if he stays as well as McAteer. There’s not enough room to accommodate everyone in the match day squad.

Financially, forward planning wise and to eradicate this season and have a clean start, I think most would hope the bench has a couple of those listed above.

Good point about signing on fees. It may well be spread over the length of the contract so he'd have two years remaining but might just be wrapped up in his wages.

Briggs needs a loan IMO, I rate him but I think he's one who needs a League One/Two loan for 6 months +

The one other player in their position I'm massively impressed by is Louis Page, could well be the biggest talent of the lot you know.

Highly unlikely Bilal goes.

I watched him play yesterday, he is so far from out first team.  He needs time.

Your negative comments about Alves and your laughing reactions to any positive reactions to him suggests some beef with the lad. Did he scratch your Austin Allegro with his BMX?

good squad players for a newly promoted team. .. hopefully they have a relegation release clause and Susan Whelan doesn’t play silly buggers.

Every other team is doing it so just blood them unless our talented youngsters are simply not good enough for a real prem game. How would we know if we don’t play them? Try it and see RVN!

Think there’s just too much at stake right now to just ‘ try it and see’
