Don’t know if it’s just me but with the way the playoffs are shaping up I’d absolutely love to see Bristol City go up. Can’t remember in my lifetime ever seeing them in the top flight and it’d be nice to see a new name have a crack at it

Yeah, but it'll probably end up with sheff utd....yawn.

kinda looking forward to next season, as long as we have a proper rebuild and get rid of the crap

And there lies the problem. We'll be stuck with a good few crap players on ridiculous contract.

I think Sheff Utd weren’t as ****ed by PSR as we are though, I think we are in big trouble with that. Might be a challenge to bring in players, we may have to rely on the academy and whatever shit stays. Sheff Utd had Hamer. We will unlikely keep anyone either that quality.

Their deduction had nothing to do with PSR; it was to do with defaulting on payments.

Have to go back to 1980

Getting results in the Championship is what we need. Confidence in this team is shot right now. The sooner we get back to winning ways, the better.

I can't see us picking up many more points in the remaining five PL games this season.

A more successful and convincing pre-season would help, too. Remember the summer of 2024?

If we are going to be anywhere near making a promotion push (which is far from a given), Leeds being promoted this season is a good thing for us. With the resources their owners are putting in, they'll only be stronger next season anyway.

Based on the fact the Championship is utter garbage. You don't even have to be good to get promoted.

League 1 is a very real possibility just ask any Luton supporter

Ask yourself whether you want to be promoted? If we are it is likely that nothing major will have changed. We’ll still have people in and around the set up who have been responsible for it all.

I never thought I would say this, but part of me wants to go through the league or spend a few years there so we can have the root and branch clear out that we need.

This is where our problem comes from, we are in a mess with PSR it’s going to take years to wash out.

I agree but I'd also love for us to bring Liam Manning in here which definitely doesn't happen if they go up. It most likely doesn't anyway but still.

The Championship is so crap Ayew would get 20 goals next season

While I don't think he'd get 20 goals I do think he will do well in the Championship. I'd also rather start him over Daka as a 9.

My fear is we play both. Together.

Vardy, Ward and Iversen are all out of contract in June, which clears ÂŁ200k a week off the wage bill. Get a decent sum for Hermansen, cash in on Faes (who is apparently wanted by Galatasaray,) bin off Vestergaard and organise another loan for Kristiansen with an agreement that the loaning club pays most or all of his wages and it could be fixable.

The financial situation probably forces us to promote youth players as well - Alves, Nelson, Monga and Evans to start with.

I would argue that our scenario is somewhat different to Luton and Sheffield United and is probably reasonably fixable.

I wouldn't start him, but he'd be a reasonable bench option in the Championship. Just bin him right the fvck off when his contract runs out, though. Promotion or not.

Come on now.... Ward is nailed on to get a new 4 year contract

I agree, I'd have him nowhere near the wings, just purely as a back up CF

With Plymouth heading down Bristol City will be my nearest away game next season…I hope they stay in the championship

I agree, we need a couple of years of stability and not bouncing between the two leagues to enable clear out you mention

But there’s a decent argument to say their team was promoted off four months good form and then their signings last summer were hardly top Championship quality. Players like Kaminski, Chong, Andersen, Brown were all mid table Championship. Nakamba one of the few with a PL record. Giles who had done well in the championship was sold in January.

As always there is arguments for both sides, granted it doesn’t happen often but i was just pointing out it’s possible to struggle in the championship after relegation from the premier league, I’m sure Luton supporters was talking about finishing top 6 and going straight back up and not many mentions if at all of relegation to league one, they finished above Burnley and Sheff Utd, they won more then we currently have and finished 8 points better off then what we currently have

As we know Championship can be a tricky place to be, our recent season there if I remember correctly 20 of the 24 had played in the premier league at some point, 2 of the teams had previously won the premier league
