I think the agreement will be he can walk away and be free to negotiate a contract and signing on fee but we have no liability and will not request a fee. Given he is zero book value this will not harm PSR but also enhance it as a massive wage off our books

lol all of a sudden thinking this business plan is actually a bit of a godsend rather than a problem.

In all seriousness it's terrible to have anybody else restricting your business. But honestly, our lot might need stopping. It genuinely might be a bit of a safety net.

 

Reminds me a little of when Chelsea had their transfer ban. They were forced into giving opportunities to some really bright young players that they may have otherwise shunned.

Agree, I actually think a transfer embargo and business plan might save us from ourselves 😅

Sweet Jesus it's bad when we're are happy about the league putting restrictions on us.

 

This would have to send a message to the board if the fans were behind it.

It would also prevent us from initiating the major reset we so badly need by forcing us to hold onto players we desperately need to get out of the club. It’s incredible that anyone thinks this would be a good thing for us.

Haha it was a tongue in cheek comment.

 

On a serious note, it is quite the predicament, knowing we need a huge overhaul but also knowing the people in charge aren't capable and may further ruin everything by signing players like Danny Ings to a 3 year 75k a week deal.

I know, but there is some truth in it. That's the worrying thing - that the club is seemingly run that bad.

I am no fan of Cov but I think some of the reaction to last night is a little premature, whilst they have made it a tad more difficult for themselves, they are no way out of the tie and I wouldn’t be surprised in the slightest if they got a result and got to Wembley.

I worried Sunderland will bottle it, they werent half celebrating like they were already at Wembley. Just a one goal lead... Sheffield United on the other hand are pretty much there with their 3 goal lead.

Cov were much the better side imo, just didn’t get that final ball right. Was a classic counter attack performance from Sunderland.  Surely at home they are going to have to do more.
